Not that I wasn’t expecting it but the new lizard models are expensive. Fully in line with the Highest price models during 8th (infantry - witch elves). Would definitely make collecting a Lizardman army in TOW a pricey affair. Perhaps that is a reason they aren’t one of the core factions, as you’d have to spend almost £80 just for 20 warriors (if direct for GW). Not only that, but you can't even buy a full unit. They are limiting the new items to 1 per customer. Shrinking unit boxes to 10 minis and limiting to 1 per person is not a good sign for TOW! I saw the price leak earlier in the week, and one of my local stores still had the army box set so I snagged it. Between the set discount and the store discount I think I saved about €100. There was no way I'd pay for some of those news set at the pricing they released at. I will look at grabbing the skink on floaty chair and a couple of the hunting packs. I doubt I'll buy anything else from the new range though, as its now cheaper to pick up old sculpts than the new ones. I've very glad I brought a boxfull of the start collecting sets to round off my lizardmen collection. I feel sorry for anyone thats going to try to raise a WFB army going forward with these sort of unit boxes/prices.

Perhaps that is a reason they aren’t one of the core factions... Nope - these are AoS models. Simply a separate game.

Can the new Saurus be squeezed onto a 25mm though?
I'm REALLY curious as to what to do. I know they come on 32mm rounds and they look almost too big for even those so my first instinct is 'no'.
Which leads me to think if I wanted to use the new Saurus in Fantasy (I've got a budding Lizardmen army that I want to add to) they're going to have to be based more Kings of War Style, which means each Saurus will have to be on a 40mm square base and I'll just have to make the bases look super interesting, and then just keep track of wounds. Maybe combine skinks or something in there to give the unit more appeal. Who knows...
Maybe I'll just go back to that Lost Kingdom kickstarter and print a Lizardmen army like I initially first intended

The new saurus are for AoS, so unlikely to be easily ranked up on 25mm.
Probably easier for TOW, where 25mm infantry will be on something bigger like 30mm(?)

Dayum in Oz the new Saurus are $105 for a box of 10.
That's the highest priced Fantasy equivalent infantry yet here.
They are arguably ornate enough to counts as temple guard.
Skink Starmaster $98 here. Oof convict tax in effect.

Saurus are ridiculous at this price even for GW.

I'd balk at the price for a core troop choice .

Yeah I wanted to get my hands on some of those new Lizardmen, but not for that price.
I'll just 3D print them when it comes time to do them.

I'll play devil's advocate... Looking at USA prices, the new Saurus Warriors are priced the same as a unit of Primaris Marines. Ten models for $60. The new Saurus Warriors are about the same size as Primaris Marines. So the price seems... appropriate?
(Full disclosure, Lizardmen are one of the few WFB factions I don't collect. So I'm not personally affected by the price.)

Particularly when I know I’d need a bunch of them to run an army. While I don’t plan to plan TOW now because of the armies they aren’t supporting, I am curious to see how the boxes will be priced for a given RnF type model. If people thought the prices were bad in 8th days, I shutter to think what it will be when you have to buy into TOW at GWs seemingly endless price hiking.

I imagine you don't need that many of the models in AoS?
In Fantasy it'd be nice to have a big block of 40, or 2 of 25...
Thats why 3d prints / cheaper alternatives / ebay lots, are better suited than the new **AOS** models.

They're damned expensive... I'm still gonna buy some in time (albeit not direct from GW). I regret picking up some of the older Saurus and Cold Ones a couple of years ago, as I really don't like how they look.
