I also thought about converting them to shades in my DE army.

I also thought about converting them to shades in my DE army. They do look like they have good potential for that

Maybe it is the heads.
There something off with these models for me. Maybe the years of fishmen talk got me too hyped.
It all feels like the basic designs are taken from dark elves or dark eldar and that turtle thing is lizardmen.

Would definitely swop something else in to replace them.

The whole "no eyes" thing is just stupid. It probably has something to do with why Teclis is talking about "messing up" when creating his people. Forgot to give them eyes or something stupid like that, and now they're "no perfect" enough to be considered High Elves.

Are we sure they don't have eyes? I'm just convinced that the GW paint scheme is terrible and a lot of these complaints would go away if we saw them with a better paint scheme.
I'm thinking about picking some up to kitbash with other elf kits for Mordheim, but I'm so far unsold on the naked torsos.
Love the bows and quivers as well as the poses though.

I actually really liked the video discussing the conscious lore/army design choices behind this army Jeremy Vetock is in there whom many of us may know of from his days design books in 7th ed. youtu.be/m5NT6liyxRw

I love hearing them get all excited about their game.
Sounds like their kind of a mix between Elves (all kinds) and Vampires. Still didn't explain their weird look.

I like all of the Idoneth videos up.The way GW zooms/pans around their miniatures is amazing. Great marketing tool (shame they couldn't start doing things like this earlier).
I actually on first look at this release didn't notice the shark at all. Distracted by the eels and the turtle I was. That's a cool miniature which I'll look to pick up at some stage.
I just wish the turtle head was better and K don't like the blinders. The Eidolon is amazing but too overpriced. I'll admit the eel riders are growing on me. I'd never get them to paint but can appreciate them a bit more now. Volturnus is a really cool model.
One of the best things about these AOS releases is retrofitting their miniatures/lore into Warhammer. With the Idoneth worshipping the sea god their 8th edition lore writes itself basically.

So they steel human souls to put into their babies? Best part they make everyone forget they did it with messing with memories.
These pointy ears are nasty!

I totally agree. It'll be really easy to write them into the 8th edition lore. I like the Shark too. Even the Eels! Cool thing is that I could see many of these models being retrofitted into my Lizardmen army as well! Hmmm......Coatl maybe???
