Blog for my large chaos forces - primarily Warriors of Chaos, but augmented with some Beastmen, the odd Demon, plus some Chaos Dwarves. I've got a sizeable force, but very little is painted so far - chaos is one of my more recent armies. I'll try to get photos of my Undead done soon, as I've got lots of them painted. My army is a mix of Tzeentch, Slaanesh and undivided. I dislike Khorne and Nurgle, so don't include any in my forces. 18 Chaos Warriors of Tzeentch - pretty standard, aside from the Blasted Standard and the champion's shield from the Chaos Knights box. I actually like the lockstep pose of the warriors, which I know a lot of others dislike. There's something menacing (and amusingly contradictory) about this force of chaotic destruction all marching in exact time. 18 Chaos Warriors of Slaanesh, with halberd + shield. The halbers are either lances from the Chaos Knights box, or claws from the Hellstriders of Slaanesh green-stuffed onto banner poles. The banner topper and some of the heads are from the same set too. The champion has a Hellstrider mutant arm. The plumes are from the Avatars of War dwarf slayers. Kairic Acolytes from the Silver Tower box. I've got the regular box of them left to paint (i.e. 20 more), to use as marauders. They're not quite as tanned as the photo makes out. More Silver Tower models to follow in the next posts.

These are the Tzaangors I posted a few days ago, also from the Silver Tower box. Like the Acolytes, I've got another 20 to paint. Some Horrors. I dislike the look of most Chaos Daemons, these guys included, but I wanted to get the Silver Tower adversaries finished. Familiars - Slop (the fish) is my favourite, and also incredibly annoying in games. My colour choice for Tweak, the mini Lord of Change, was poor - too much blue.

My Ogroid Thaumaturge. His face came out so badly in the photos, I'm not even going to include that picture. I haven't used him in any WFB games yet, but he makes a decent Daemon Prince. The Gaunt Summoner (Chaos Sorcerer in WFB) - I disliked the model when I first saw it, but I like it much more in the pallid skin tone: This guy isn't actually a chaos model, but he spends his whole life fighting the Silver Tower beasties, I figured I'd include him. I use the "Excelsior Warpriest" rules for him, hence the dog. The other members of my party all grumble because he's useless at actually killing things, but they change their tune pretty quickly when they want to be healed.

Hi Sedge,
Your army is looking great, I particularly like the chaos warriors, the painting is super clean ! That Ogroid looks sharp as well. Keep it coming !

These look awesome, Sedge! You've done a great job with your highlights! Nice! If I were ever to paint up some Warriors of Tzeentch, I'd be something VERY similar! And I love that Excelsior Warpriest. Empire is ma JAM! Love the Dog. I want a hole unit of them to go with my Middenheim army. So hard to find a good "war dog" model(s) though.

I spent much of Salute last year looking for a suitable dog - this one is "Armoured Chip" (they also do an un-armoured one) from Hasslefree Miniatures. I like that the warrior priest is covered in plate/mail armour, and has even gone as far as to kit out his dog with padded leather armour and spikes... yet still walks around barefoot. Absolute nutter, and encapsulates the crazed fanaticism of the cult of Sigmar.

nice paint jobs. I like the gaunt summoner in particular. Spending a convention looking for a Sigmar-approved dog is a nice display of dedication. well done!

This is not a recent paint job - I did this model back in Christmas 2013 as a festive Warhammer "reindeer". It's based differently to the rest of my forces, as I'd originally done it to match my Wood Elves basing scheme, though really it's a Beastmen model. I might re-do the base at some point so it's sanded, but I like the contrast it has at present. Pretyon: I love his rules in-game as he hates the twisted creature he's become so much that he gains combat resolution from wounds inflicted on himself. Attachments:

He looks fantastic, Sedge! You did a great job with his gradiated shading! Those are some of the colors and model I would've chosen if I were into WoC or DoC too.

Sweet Belakor. And I agree. This is the best daemon prince that ever will be.
