Great way to distinguish the units. And you're right; you never see forsaken around. I don't think I've EVER seen them deployed. Given that they were available for such a short time, I'd be optimistic in hoping they make a comeback with TOW

20 Chaos Warhounds: I figure 10 of them are for the Warriors of Chaos, and 10 of them for the Beastmen. These models are distinctly mediocre - it's a surprise they still sell them. The old metal ones had much more character.

Keep it up my fellow legions of chaos enthusiast!

One thing Age of Sigmar got right: letting Beastmen armies take Cockatrices. GW and FW wasted so many good monsters by limiting them to Storm of Magic. Anyway, here's mine. I originally intended a pale flesh + blue scales/feathers/fur colour scheme, but started introducing more colours as I went on, and it ended up looking faintly ridiculous. I'm still relatively pleased with it.

Nice job with the Cockatrice.
I'm still not sure what to make of the model, it's so weird which I guess means GW nailed it.

I've painted a load more Beastmen - I actually now have nearly all the Beastmen models I own painted - just a Ghorgon/Cygor (two in one), Razorgor chariot, unit of Razorgors, and a few miscellaneous characters to do. I don't have any Centigors (other than Ghorros) or Minotaurs, which I need to correct some day, and my Gors/Bestigors are too few in number, but I'm happy with my progress on these lot anyway. Anyhow, here's 21 Bestigors, including one from an Underworlds warband - I can't decide if he makes a better champion than the regular one, so my unit gets two champions: These are the rest of the models from that Underworlds warband - four Ungors, who'll bulk out my small unit of Ungor Raiders: While I love the goat aesthetic for Beastmen, in the background they're far more varied in form - part cow, horse, pig, sheep or even something weirder. I'd love to see that represented in the models better. I liked the idea of having a carnivorous animal as a Beastmen, and picked up a wolfman model from Mierce, which I converted with a weapon and shield swap. It's hard to photograph well, so the face is missing in this, but I'm happy with the result: This is the classic Wargor BSB. I originally painted the banner all one colour, but inspired by the Bestigors "Despoilers" rule, I wanted to make use of its patchwork nature to have it look like it's made from the captured standards of the herd's many and varied foes: And finally this Bray Shaman "Aanchuth the Cursed" from Mierce. It's nautically themed with a whale/shark/dolphin jaw staff topper, and the bizarre crab around its crotch. I didn't realise until later they do a more conventional version with an axe rather than the sword - I would have got that instead, but I'm still happy with this guy:

Nicely done beastmen! That shaman is great, and that includes the crab. Good job on getting the crabby colors just right.

Nice beasts! You and Mark Dienekes are tempting me to ditch the Stormtroopers I am painting very slowly in order to try to power through the bestigor I’m stalled on.
Sedge, I agree with your point about liking the goat theme but being intrigued by beastmen based on a greater variety of animals. Got a bit to say about this but I’ll start a thread about it sometime rather than hijacking your painting log.
