So, what's the insider scoop on the new Idoneth Deepkin? --This new faction came out months ago, to what appeared to be much fanfare --There were oodles of boxes and sets and minis and kits --The past 2 issues of White Dwarf have shown ZERO images RE: the underwater elves
Anyone got an inside scoop? --Did the product launch tank somehow? --Low demand? Bad sales?? --I was gonna purchase a few kits, but my EEFL longbeard grumpiness won the day and I never clicked BUY --Or am I missing something and they're selling like hotcakes?
Has anyone on this here forum bought any of the Idoneth Deepkin kits? (I'll assume you placed them on square bases, right?)

I would think they simply moved on to the next shiny thing, wasn't that the ghostly ghosts in all shapes and sizes?

^This. I assumed that their fate was being released too close to the new edition. All of the attention is there now. That doesn't mean that they're not selling well though.

WD magazines are written months in advance, so their absence from the latest ones doesn't mean anything other than that GW's focus has been on the next set of new releases.
I'm planning to eventually pick up the archer unit, and do some head-swaps so they can be a HE or WE unit (haven't quite worked out what), but that's a long way down my priority list.

They did have one WD with them on the cover. I believe they have been relatively popular.
I don't have any but do like several of the models.

I was thinking something similar. The archers look very good but I can’t stand the eyeless heads.

Sales seem to be pretty good locally but they were right before the release of the new edition. I don't think most releases get more then a month or two of attention in all honesty. The release pipeline is moving very fast.
If you want to get a sense of their lore check out Garagehammers review they did one episode on the lore and one episode on the rules. Long listens but interesting.

Oh man. They are still doing those 18 hour retellings of the fluff? I subscribed to that show for a while but just couldn't make it through the marathon reviews.

3 hours for this one but yes. I think it's helpful when I'm not planning on buying a book but want to get the gist of what's going on. I think their End Times shows however were absolutely spectactular because of the various editing work and voice overs they did.

The host does put a lot of work into the episodes. I was glad to see he started a patron to at least get something for all those hours.
I think the end times episodes were the last ones I listened to, and I agree they are well done.

--Did the product launch tank somehow? Tank?... as in fish tank?... as in fish Elves? Sorry I haven't bought any myself.

That was a great podcast, I listened to pretty much all their 8th edition shows over the years and I think they got better and better with the crowning achievement being those End Times episodes. The lengthiness worked well for listening while painting. Too bad they left the world-that-was. Is there any podcast left covering the old world?

I'm not aware of an 8th ed one currently active (if there was they should be posting here!) but then again there is quite a back catalog of a number of great podcasts. I like the Bad Dice ones a lot as well.
