The mighty Legion of Settra the Imperishable! This 5200 point force will be used for a special battle in the future. I just assembled it all to see what it looked like altogether and to confirm the army list. I really need to finish painting my screaming skull catapult. Settra rolls alone on his Chariot of the Gods like the straight pimp he is! He left his chariot legions at home for this one, wanting to be in the thick of it solo. In the second picture Settra discusses strategy with his trusted vassal and ally Khalazid the Eternal. Known to his foes as "He who flies"... Khalazid the Eternal liked to float over his foes sprinkling his lethal sand as he goes. Rules wise he is a 275point pick having the Banner (cloak) of Dunes, a great weapon and a 4+ Ward save. Settra and Khalazid have sensed a disturbance to their Chi and have assembled to battle. Their foe waits for the right time to reveal itself....... Attachments:

Thanks a lot guys. Here is a closeup of my 'Bowshabti'. These guys i painted all of in a couple of hours ages ago and it shows. One day maybe i will revisit them to give them a more vibrant paint job. I am a big fan of the models and this 300 point unit. I ordered a scenic base (my first ever!) for Settra and am a very happy with how 'Tomb Kingy' it turned out to be. The steeds on the chariot are so flimsy i can't shade/highlight them without breaking my carefully glued setup so i have just left them. Overall i am happy with how he turned out though. One of my favorite ever Warhammer characters! Attachments:

Very cool! What is that thing in the back left corner of your army shot? Im not sure if you mean the wicker chair back or my 'Desert Squid' The tomb kings have befriended this mighty desert dweller and with the help of offerings, enchantments and Settra's mighty will this 325 point pick now fights for them. This is my upcoming major project. Gaps filled and stuck to base (secret weapon scenic base) ready for undercoating. "Volcanos" the Incarnate Elemental of Fire. Due to the massive size of the model I will likely not use the Monstrous Arcanum rules for a 'lesser Elemental of Fire' . This guy might end up proxying and an Exalted Greater Daemon. If only Warhammer Forge had made the Elemental of Death model. Still im super happy with this model. It was a pain to assemble and you can see the amount of greenstuff i needed to get it stable on the base.

Ah, that was your Sand Squid! The Fire Elemental will be an exciting project! He brings a whole new meaning to "ugly". And I meant that in a good way.

Is there backstory fluff for desert squid? The squid shares Khalazid's intense hatred of High Elves and through this hatred and battles they have formed a close bond to the point where the squid is almost like a large pet for Khalazid (who used to keep pet turtles when he was alive. The squid and its snappy nature bring back fond memories for Khalazid) The Desert Squid's backstory is partially inspired by that of Tzar Boris of Kislev's bear. Residing in the desert this gargantuan land faring squid would attack all who encroached on its perceived territory (which considering the squid is a roamer was anywhere remotely near it current location). Many skeleton warrior patrols were smashed to bone as they crossed paths with the squid. Then one day the squid moved into the territory controlled by none other than Khalazid the Eternal. When one skeletal patrol did not return Khalazid decided to investigate. Khalazid left taking a small party with him to perform a reconnaissance trip. Most Tomb Kings would leave such a task to underlings but Khalazid has ever been one to do things himself and see to things personally. On this trip Khalazid and his small force were ambushed by a party of high elves led by none other than Elfarian the Haughty(not to be confused with Eltharion the Grim). Outnumbered and outmatched by their Elven foes Khalazid decided to fight to defend his territory from this smug interloper rather than fly away. Elfarian's griffin mount used its sharp claws to rip skeletal horsemen to shreds whilst his White Lion bodyguard dispatched skeletons with every swing of their great axes. Suddenly out of nowhere a giant tentacled hand backhanded Elfarian right out of his saddle and another seven giant tentacles wrapped up Elfarian's Griffin in their poisonous embrace. The Land Squid had arrived! At the sight of this new combatant the high elves lost their nerve and fled, taking their poncy leader with them. The White Lions who are famed monster hunters had never before seen such a terrifying foe! An hour later Khalazid watched with morbid curiosity as the Squid finished devouring the last part of the Griffin. The squid was an efficient killer but the slow tentative way in which it ate its food reminded him of his turtles. Khalazid floated right in front of the Squid and looked into its big dopey eyes. Smiling widely through fleshless lips he slowly, deliberately brought his mummified hand to rest on one of its tentacles. The squid watched him warily but made no move to attack him. Khalazid slowly stroked the tentacle as he thought about his plans for the next 100 years. The squid made a slow air releasing sound like 50 cows passing wind. Khalazid looked deep into the inky pits which were the Squid's eyes and knew that this sound was the equivalent of a cats purr. Khalazid had found a new pet!

Azazel Daemon Prince of Slaanesh gap filled and ready for undercoating. I'll likely move to a bigger base once painted.
