Hi all,
When my wife first purchased her Wood Elves army, we were playing AoS so she based some of her units in round bases. I was thinking of doing some work with re-basing them. Every time I try, I feel like I'm going to break the legs of the poor Dryads. What do you guys use for re-basing? Knife?

Hobby knife is what I have used before yes. You just need to be patient with it and take your time.

Yeah, I use a hobby knife usually. If you can, work around the base connection, "carving" away at it slowly. It might take a while, but it'll come off clean. Much better than if you break off a foot because you got a little impatient. That'd make a lot more work for you.

A really sharp knife will do it. Dryads have such tiny feet that it should be fairly easy to do for them. If the bases have any sand on them, you might want to clear that out the way first so you can get the knife flush with the base.

I would use sprue clippers to cut away the base, so that you have just the foot glued to the old base left. Use the “footprint” that’s left to glue to your new base and then any new basing technique you use should cover up any of the old base that might show.
If you use an x-acto blade, I would get the chisel blade that fits the larger handle. It cuts smoother when pressure is applied, as the force is directly above what’s being cut.
Hope that all made sense.
Good luck!
