Hi, community,
I introduced myself in the post regarding The Gates of Kislev project - in short: Empire vs Chaos, 40.000 points battle per side, 3.000 miniatures, 7 players, fought last June after 2.5 years of preparation.
Well, this long term project is finally over, so it's time to focus on other purposes. I advanced you on the General Discussion topic that a "six hands" Vampire Counts army is taking shape along with two mates from my gaming group. This is exciting because it's the first time we get in something like this, thinking on a common army where not everyone has to buy a Coven Throne or the full fistful of options; focusing on narrative/big battles rather than a competitive list, and sharing main schemes (bones, skin, bases...) to integrate the troops regardless who painted them.
But I felt also like to begin a kind of an Army Journal on this forum, with some miniatures I already have assembled and painted: my Bretonnian collection. This was my first ever army of any kind of miniatures, and I remember entering in a independent miniatures shop in 1999, being impressed by all the miniatures and take a starter painting set that included a few plastic archers.
Since then (with a long break) I have collected the most of 5th and 6th edition models, and currently trying to expand the range with some of the 3th ed. models (no gunpowder!), and I bought some minis from another companies. Nowadays I have around 12.000 points, according 8th edition standards.
In terms of essence of the army, I'm more in favour of the 'Arthuric' and Hundred Years War' approaches (5th and 3rd editions ) than the 'Feudal' one from the 6th ed. I have some Knights and Bowmen from 6th I didn't detailed on the list; I'm not sure if they will be included.
The peasants will be painted with some different schemes, picturing they are raised by different local lords. Regarding the Knights, I'm not sure how to procedure. I am fan of Song of Ice and Fire lore too and I was thinking to have some Knights painted according some Westeros Realms, but we'll will see.
This is the list of the stuff I own and that will be painted (at some time!). There a few units still with models to acquire, which I highlight in orange, and units to be bought, in red. Also, the number of miniatures per unit is not closed, so there are regiments that can see their ranks increased or lowered. For now, I cannot guarantee a regularly update of painting, due the Vampire Counts and other projects, but I really feel like the time of Bretonnians has come and would be interesting to get at least 2.500 points painted on a decent amount of time to deploy them on the battlefield (never field unpainted units!).

And here you have some pics of the current collection. Many stuff was bought painted, and it will be stripped and repainted, at some point.
Bowmen unit: Units composition and command groups are not definitive; also, planning to make some stakes but not with regular 20x80mm bases.
More Bowmen: Note the 3rd edition ones. I plan to add more units of this kind of early Hundred Years War style of archers.
Bowmen, Squires and Trebuchet. Still not sure if include Bertrand AKA Robin with 6th ed. Bowmen or find others that can fit more the Merrymen lore.
Men at arms, Foot Paladins and Damsels. Some of metal Halberdiers are from Harlequin (currently available at Black Tree Miniatures). Plastic 6th ed. Halberdiers are one of the few units with a "final" scheme, Lannister inspired; they include metal command from 5th ed.
Battle Pilgrims. Horse-Reliquae was made a few years ago, just to be used in a tourney. Current plan is to assemble the "real" Grail Reliquae, which I acquired with a few more lunatic pilgrims.
Some 3th ed. Foot Knights! As you can see in the list I have planned two big units of them; the aim is to find the rest of the Citadel range of that era (maybe in a few years, they are ultra rare ), and buy more from other companies who currently sell this kind of knights.
And some Retainers, models also difficult to be fount. I will make them some proper stats, a kind of middle ground between the Peasants Levy and Foot Knights.
Mounted Squires:
Some pics of the Knights units and Damsels. Some Heroes here too, even acting as Champions; they will be replaced by proper Champions in the future.
Horses! Piles of them! And the corresponding unassembled Knights. I have also 3th ed. Knights, unpictured, they are like the foot ones I showed you earlier, with bascinets, kettle hats or helmets with no crest. Like to be played as another middle ground unit, a kind of status between Mounted Squires and Realm Knights, provisionaly tagged as 'Vassal Knights' on the list.
And the Suliman's Saracen friends.
Bonus wider pic:
I realise I didn't make pics of some units, like Pegasus. Anyway, you get the full picture and the status of the army. Thanks for reading!
