Hello everyone, To start the new year right I’ve decided to create a hobby log to chart the progress of my first proper army. This being a dwarf army from a hold of my own devising, which is Karak Kazad the name being a combination of the words for enduring and fortress. This name is taken from the very useful dictionary in the 6th edition dwarf army book. The idea for the army is they represent a new hold only established in the last hundred years. That is based on the opposite side of the black water to the now ruined hold of Karak Varn. The army will initially be led by a thane and comprised of a mixture of thunderers, longbeards, warriors and ironbreakers with the odd gyrocopter thrown in. I hope to add I little bit more information about these units as they progress. At the moment the thunderers and longbeards are based and ready to receive paint and am currently working on the warriors unit. I will admit part of the reason for this hobby log is to get me going in painting these units, which can then be shared with everyone on the forum. Finally I will try to update this log as frequently as I can, real life permitting. At the moment am in the last stages of training as an Architect so that is taking up a lot of my free time. Anyway thank you for reading this introduction and I’ll upload some pictures soon. Can I just ask how everyone alse uploads pictures is it through a picture hosting site or another way? Thanks TrollSlayer

The best way to post images is to use a hosting site like imgur.
Do you have a colour scheme for your hold yet? And are you using all Games Workshop models, or throwing in some others too?

I use the Tapatalk App. It got integrated image sharing so I just snap a picture with the app or add from the phone the photos.

Thanks for the question Sedge, I was thinking of using green and red as the primary colours. The force is primarily made up of games workshop models but I do have some of the black chapel miniatures dwarfs, which I may use later on. I’ve attached a link if anyone is interested in them blackchapelminiatures.com/en/. Also here’s a photo of the current progress on the army, don’t mind the vostroyans there for a small 40k project.

Have you used that Imperial Primer you've got on your desk before? I gave up using it a few years ago, because it seemed useless (it just peeled off) and I'm curious if you've had better experiences with it.
Your units are looking good, and I think I can see some neat conversions in there.

I haven’t used that imperial primer in a while Sedge. Though from what I can remember I’ve never had an occurrence of it peeling off. From the research I did on the primer, it needs to be well shaken before use and only used when it isn’t warm temperature wise. Hopefully that’s of use to you and your next experience is better. Thought I’d share some more pictures of the models am working on. Their a mixture of sixth edition dwarfs and marauder dwarfs, the sixth edition dwarf models being a particular favourite of mine. They need a few more details added to them and then they’ll be ready for painting finally. Dwarf Thunders Dwarf Longbeards Dwarf Warriors Finally to wrap it all up my lastest acquisitions.

Lookin' forward to seeing these guys all painted up!
I'm about to jump back into my Dwarf army and try to finish them off. This will be good inspiration for me to get back on them!
