www.warhammer-community.com/2019/01/04/a-quick-heads-up/Quoted from there: Hiya folks,
In the spirit of openness, we’ve got a quick bit of news for you today: as of the 4th of February this year, the price of paints and some of the Start Collecting! sets will change.
Paint pots will have a small increase of 20 pence per pot (or local currency equivalent). The paint sets, though, will have no change, making them an even better way to round out your painting arsenal.
The Start Collecting! sets are going up a little too, but you’ll still save at least 20% over buying the contents individually and in some cases more like 40%!
Happy painting,
– The Warhammer Community Team

So good thing that I use Reaper paints and buy mostly the old battalion sets.

20 pence. That can buy you mottdon's loyalty.

To be honest I've been using Vallejo and Army Painter stuff for a while and really like it.
I also have very little intention of purchasing one of the Start Collecting kits anyway!

Well, this might actually push me over to Vallejo now. I've been holding off pretty much out if loyalty, but now.... I would try out some new pants and see what you like. AK interactive, super matt, is suppose be both cheap and good, scale 75 gets some great reviews too. If you want cheap I like war colour but they are very different and more like a gel and a little satin gloss. All I am saying is if you are open to trying to go ahead and try some more brands then just Vallejo.

It’s shame when there’s any sort of price rise, at the moment am neither buying the start collecting box’s or their paints. So it has little impact on myself personally. Though I think any rise and in particular on the start collecting sets, could act as a barrier to people getting involved in this hobby. We will just have to see what sort of rise is put into effect and then judge whether either the paints or sets are still worth the additional cost.

To be honest. It has been a long time since I found GW paint to be a value compared to other paints. There is nothing wrong with it and I do understand the convenient with naming and guides on how to paint. But it's been overpriced for a long time already.

I could see that 20 pence somehow turning out to be $1 Australian knowing Games Workshop.

I find GW pricing pretty disgusting and have done for some time. It always has been pretty extortionate. I think the Witch Elves were the point which broke the back for me.
This might finally push me to alternative paints. I only really stuck with them out of convenience and habit

As someone just getting back into painting, I've got a backlog of games workshop paints to use before I start buying new ones. However I wouldn't be adverse to trying new paint lines, ive got some of the vallejo paints and will try them out in due course.

Army painter is pretty decent too just be prepared to shake A LOT of it the first time or buy a nail polish shaker.

Army painter is pretty decent too just be prepared to shake A LOT of it the first time or buy a nail polish shaker. I get on quite well with army painter. I think they do some lovely shades

I'm old and set in my ways, so I'll probably just suck it up and pay more for shades that fit my existing schemes.
