I'm old and set in my ways, so I'll probably just suck it up and pay more for shades that fit my existing schemes. Well, when it comes to technical paint it's a little different as all brands are different. I am also full-blown citadel washes and some of the textures. I always come back to agrax, nuhlin and reikland...

Yeah, I'm pretty heavy on those as well. Though there are some really good YouTube videos out there on how to make you own. Might be worth the effort....

I'll stick with Vallejo, they don't change recipes or names of colours, they've clever bottles and they don't rise prices of paints without any reason.

Those look good strutsagget! Did you mix those up yourself, or did you just compile several pots into one?

I find GW pricing pretty disgusting and have done for some time. It always has been pretty extortionate. I think the Witch Elves were the point which broke the back for me. Yes! I specifically remember the witch elves and thinking the same thing. I remember talking with a friend about GW prices. The friend was generally ok with GW prices, me not so much. Then I brought up the $60 (US) for 10 minis witch elves. He hadn’t seen that and didn’t believe me. So I pull it up on GW website. He then agreed that was excessive.

Oh man so it has always been that much. I was really hesitant to get witch elves because of that price and tried building a Dark Elf army without but everyone on Dakka Dakka pushed hard on them so I got some 2nd hand Metal models and then got 2 boxes of the age of Sigmar ones that were cheaper.

They kicked it up a notch from the Grave Guard which I think were the old highest @ £24/10 IIRC (also a bit steep imo) I was pondering a box of the new Squig Hoppers and maybe the Shrine and another Mangler but at those prices I will pass

I have to admit because of the price on witches I had to get some of mine from suspect origin...
I just can't pay $300 for one unit...

Vallejo for the win. Their paints are amazing I've been using them for some years now. Hopefully this drives more business their way.
I still use GW inks/shades and some of their technical line, but for everything else, there's Vallejo.

Shoot. Does anyone remember the Vampire Blood Knights costs? $99 for a box of 5! I have NEVER understood what the heck GW was thinking on that price point.

It’s a shame as I really like the models. I just can’t understand why they are priced so high. If I remember correctly, 5 grail knights were the same stupid price point. It means that in the scope of things, looking at spending £25 per grail knight on eBay isn’t actually much of a mark up (unlike every other thing Bretonnian related).

The best part of moving away from GW paint is that you don't get the worst pot on the market. It is obviously made to spill as much as possible so you buy new paint... Man, I really hate these pots. As soon as I get some free smaller pots I will transfer the washes I use less frequently.

Daft they've put the prices up when there is so much competition out there with some fantastic models!
