Pre-thoughts: This will be my 4th game playing MSU. We are slowly increasing points but try to keep the lists as familiar as possible for both players to make decisions easier and fast for weekdays games. 1st game I crushed Ogres, Second game Ogres crushed me and third game Lizzies crushed me. I feel i have a lot to improve but the dice were not helping me during my last game against Lizzies with failing A LOT of rally/panic tests. Last game I got crushed by the ogres by bad deployment. This time my thought was to try to face the mournfang with my cold one knights. Don't be afraid to just pushing my units forward (witches and executioners). Rember Doomlocks are fast cavalry that serves both as chaff if needed and WM hunting and magic. I REALLY love the toolbox the Doomlocks bring in these small games. Magic: I am heavy in Magic and my idé is I value a dispell scroll a lot but it might be too much. I rolled for my sorceress and hit Pit of Shades... it was too good to give up on against low initiative ogres so I kept it but mu ide was to use the all-purpose signature spell Miasma on the sorceress. So for DE it is 2x Doombolt, 2x Soulblight and Pit of Shades Oges picked up on the firebelly: Fireball, and an extra with Ruby ring of rhuin, Cascading Fire-Cloak Deployment: We rolled scenario 2: Dawn Attack and I(DE) got to deploy first and then got first turn. Both players got some units in the opposing flanks. I vanguard forward.

Turn 1: Dark Elves: Passed stupidity on cold one knights Charges: No charges. Movement: I moved all units forward full speed. Big forward doomlocks I position behind his line and the second doomlock I positioned baiting the cannon. I tried position my COK so they were positions for a counter charge if the mournefangs moved forward too much. Magic: I started with doom bolt on the cat in the middle and he thought long and let it through and it killed the cat. He then dispelled my soulblight on the ogre bus. Shooting: First bolt thriwer dud a wound to a mournefang but the second bokt throwed did not manage to wound a led belcher. Close Combat: No combat Ogres: Charges: No charges. Movement: He moved led belchers and ogre bus backward... Slippery little bugger. He moved mournefangs a little forward but still far for me to charge them. He thought long with Hus cannon but divided he wanted to shoot this turn so he just lined it up against my bolt thrower I also had a great lineup with some witches in the flank . He moved his second cat to chaff away on flank witches. Magic: He fireballed twice(ring) but I dispelled first and dispel scrolled second. Shooting: Here he got unlucky and the cannon exploded in a misfire, no more cannon. His led Belchers, on the other hand, managed to dish out almost 30 shots and killed 7 executioners. Close Combat: No combat

Turn 2: Dark Elves: Passed stupidity on cold one knights. Charges: Doomlocks charged the cannon. Witches charged the cat. Movement: I moved all units forward trying to position my COK behind the tower opposite if the mournefangs. Second doomlock set up for a charge next turn. Magic: I started with doombolt his led belchers that he let through. And managed to roll a lot killing two ogres. I then rolled a big pit of shades that de dispelled. Shooting: Both bolt throwers missed this turn. Close Combat: I managed to do a single wound on the cannon but it was enough to win combat by one and the cannon fled off the table. The cat got slaughter by witches. Ogres: Charges: Iron guts charged the executioners. Movement: Mournefangs moved forward. Led belchers a little forward. Magic: Firecloak went through and killed 4 executions at end of the phase. Shooting: Led belchers killed some witches. Close Combat: Before the executioners were annihilated they did some good damage killing two ogres.

Turn 3: Dark Elves: Passed stupidity on cold one knights Charges: Witch elves and doomlocks charged the led belchers. Movement: Fast reform on second witches. Facing potential charge next turn. Second doomlocks moved forward as did COKs. Magic: low magic winds called for a single soulblight on iron guts. Shooting: Manage to do two rounds on mournefangs taking down one beast. Close Combat: The combined hits of 4 doomlocks and 9 witches (31 attacks) made fast poison ASF work of the led belchers. I choose to overrun into the ionguts with the doomlocks making the witches bounce back after combat. Ogres: Charges: No charges. Movement: He tried to get the mournefang back in the center. Magic: Low winds but he added a firecloak on the ironguts. And it killed the doomlocks at end of phase. Shooting: No shooting. Close Combat: No combat.

Turn 4: Dark Elves: Passed stupidity on cold one knights. Charges: Multi charges on the oger bus. But the bus managed an impressing flee maneuver and rolling 11 in a direction the doomlocks could not follow. Witches tried to follow but only managed to stumble 3”. Movement: cold ones tried to get a position where a rear flank wasn't possible. Magic: Not sure :/ think a pit of shade was dispelled. Shooting: Finally my bolt throwers deliverd and they deliverd big time with last 5 wounds needed to kill both mournefangs. He conceded at this point as he had only a wounded ogre bus left.

Post game analysis:
Another fun game. Ogres had some misfortunes on deployment and first turn exploding cannon that I manage to take advantage of. All of this made me feel like I had a lot more on the field then my opponent. And I also managed to some good surrounding and multi chargers. I feel like the sorceress wasn't needed and I probably would rather have a peg master.
MSU so far us either win big or loose big. That is probably a sign on I am far from an expert and dice makes huge impacts.

I also would like to write a little better :/ right now its more pretty straight forward. Any feedback on what I should improve is more than welcome. Thinking of picking up mottdon magic dice placement techniques. 😁 So far I like the MSU concept. It a way for me to field more units in our low-points games.
