Hi all, Long time lurker, first time poster. I've decided to post some of the things I've finished recently and hopefully will provide some inspiration for me to continue. I have a few Warhammer armies including Ogres, Dark Elves, Vampire Count, Orcs & Goblins, but currently I've been working on my Empire army. It was originally supposed to be a Marienburg army, but they came out looking more like Altdorf, so I guess I'll run with that. First up, a block of swordsmen, 40 strong. Still haven't finished all the shields or banners. I'd also like to increase the contrast on the reds and repaint all the feathers a white/cream colour, but for now they're done. The captain model is from confrontation. It doesn't quite fit the Empire aesthetic, but he'll do for the moment until something more appropriate comes along. I really like unit fillers, so I put this barrel monkey to good use. Wizard bunker archers. Knightly orders. I don't like the original old sculpts so decided to make my own. I missed the chaos symbol on the horse helmet because I got so fed up converting them. I would need to make another 5, but can't muster myself to begin the converting. More to follow. Thanks

A few more for today. Unit of 10 handgunners. Will need to get another 10. Helblaster volleygun. I went for Nuln colours here to fit in with the lore and also to break up the monotony of red and blue. Steam tank. I love this model. Still need to paint lettering on the front ribbons My Demigryph knights. I don't like the official model so I decided to use the Stormcast Grpyh chargers, which look a lot better and more dynamic. I did under estimate how difficult it would be to get a rider that fits. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.

Could you potentially use the Stormcast armored legs and human/empire bodies for the demigryphs?

The stormcast legs are too big to have a normal humie torso etc. I'm cracking open the groin (ow!) and then Greenstuffing the legs back into position:

I like your painting style, and the conversions are cool, particularly the chaos-as-empire knights, which I haven't come across before. Would it not be worth green-stuffing that horse's chaos icon? It should be relatively simple to fill in the arrows, then paint over it. It's one of those things that you'll keep noticing forever if you don't.

I don't mind the "chaos symbol", as its also the symbol for the 8 winds of magic? So representative of altdorfs colleges?
Or have I made that up?
Edit: looking into it, the empire use more of a wheel, than the star symbol. So you could join up the arrowheads, if you wanted to make a wheel. As much effort as putting plastic putty in to fill the gaps tho lol.

Do you have any pics from other angles? Also what model is that are the riders, are they original Demigryph riders? I was so glad to get the unit finished that I couldn't go back to fix it up now lol. When I do the next 5 I'll put more effort into covering the chaos symbols, but I probably won't use greenstuff (hate using it). I'd probably use some acrylic to make a 'grill' over the eyes. Some more recently completed stuff. Sorry about the lighting, I'll try to get most of my photos in the weekend mornings with the natural light. Unit of 21 Greatswords and a battle standard bearer. I will need to bulk these guys up a bit for 8th edition. These models were a bargain find on eBay and for my 6th edition army lists originally. Unit filler. Needs a bit of a dusting. Unit champion made up of spare parts mostly. BSB. Another eBay find. You can tell the standard has been broken many times lol. My old Nuln engineer Lastly, are the pistoliers I am currently working on. Horses feet and mouth need some detail work, and the rider needs finished. An evening should get them finished.

Awesome empire, I really like the bright look of your greatswords and the unit filler is cool. Thanks guys. Are the images loading for you now strutsagget ? A few more updates. I finished the pistolier unit. I didn't really enjoy painting these old models, but I got through them in the end. I also finished up the Celestial Hurricanum. It was more or less finished for months without the planets being painted, so decided to finish it last night. Enjoy Lastly is a work in progress of the wizard that will be mounted on top. Couple of other work in progress pics. Large units of black knights for my vampire counts army. If I get some time (and better lighting) I'll upload more of my vampire counts army pictures.

Very cool! Looks like you basically painted up a Luminark and Light Wizard, but used the Huricanum sphere on top. We're you planning on swapping it out with the Lazer Beam?
Top notch painting though. I really like the shading you've done on your wizard's skin. (He's got a nice tan from all that light magic! 😁)
Great work! Keep 'em coming!

It was given to me as a freebie when I bought a Mortis Engine from a member of my local games club. I wasn't aware it was built incorrectly. However, I do believe it was missing a few parts and the scribe model.
