It would be pretty good if as a Runelord, your ability was to add on a 4th rune to weapons or even better armour!

Actually going back and looking at the runes and characters lists was going to suggest giving a thane Mastr rune of flight and two runes of might. That way you can tool your Lord up to deal with challenges etc and have a thane to deal with charging monsters. However, Master rune of flight is quite expensive for what it does and a thane only has 75 point allowance. Would suggest leaving master rune of flight back at the hold unless its a really big battle where you could play that trick.

A blood thirster would be making it into combat with one wound left.

I know, but a longbeared can dream of the good old days, when goblins where tougher and we used to kill them with our bear hands.

Well said runelord could still be killing blow killed by a meagre bloodletter so not OP in my opinion. He would have no defensive runes and can still only waddle around 3 to throw his magic weapon of OP Daemon smiting. 7th edition Dwar book had better synergy for the Master Rune of flight than the 8th book.

Had a thought for a runelord. Two runes of Iron, one rune of fortitude. Then three runes of cleaving. That way he'd be toughness 7 with 4 wounds so really hard to kill but with killing blow. That way he might be able to win challenges as only a ward save would be of use against killing blow. Thoughts?
