Each Dark Elf Cold One has around 120 individual "bony" bits (horns, teeth, claws, those spiky scales at the sides) - I counted them. I'm painting a unit of 10. My painting recipe for bone has 5 layers of paint (Zandri Dust x 2, Ushabti Bone, Screaming Skull, Agrax Earthshade). So that's around 6,000 dabs of paint just to get the bony bits done. That's taken up much of my time the last few days! I'm not far from being done with the steeds - these ones just need a wash on the metalwork; the other six need the metal based then washed (I'm probably too lazy to highlight it). I'd like to pretend I don't have another 4 characters on Cold Ones, plus the 2 pulling a Chariot, to paint. I think those might be left for another month year.

So many hobby heroes around here! I am but a man among giants, all I finished so far this month is a little Sabre Wolf for the ogres. Now, I also made a momentous decision on my next project. It'll be a unit of Khorne Knights lead by a BSB on Daemonic steed (Marbaal, the oft Defeated). Good to have some direction again, flailing no more. The Knights will eventually show up here all painted, next month or the month after or the month after.

My favourite WFB unit, painted finally: These took AGES to do, but they're so worth it. I built them when I was just getting back into the hobby, and so the assembly quality was poor - I cleaned up a lot of mould lines but there are still a few hidden around the place. I'd also started painting them back when I had no idea what I was doing. I think I fixed them up pretty well. Will put more photos in my Elves plog. Up next is some repainting - my DE Reaper Bolt Throwers + crew, which need some serious cleaning up. I've got an assassin on my desk to paint too, plus the old Shadowblade to tidy up.

You have done an exceptional job with the cold ones Sedge. That's certainly a unit that you can be proud of!

Thanks No photos yet, but I've spent the last couple of days tidying up some Dark Elves that were amongst the first models I painted. I've got through 5 Shades, 2 Reaper Bolt Throwers, the old Shadowblade, old Hydra, and a Manticore. Aside from really sloppy and basic painting, the main thing to fix was skin tone as my Dark Elves were originally in Trumpian Tan, but need to be changed to Pasty-Faced Hobbyist. All of that was me putting off what I'm starting tomorrow - 30 Spearelves (the old style plastics) followed by 26 Crossbowelves (same old plastics), which will be utterly tedious to fix up, but are necessary. I'll take photos once I have the lot done.

I'm back gents. My last month and a half has been a challenge. Working 18 hour days, 6 days a week. As a bit of a silver lining, my wife gave birth 3 days ago, so a new Knoffles has arrived! The bummer is that for the last 3 days she's been in hospital and bar a 2 hour slot after the birth, I've not been allowed in to see her or the baby due to the hospital being on lockdown. However as my Paternity started yesterday, I got in a day of hobby to unwind. So enough rambling and have some unpledged items: A herdstone for the Khazbar the Magnificent (from Zealot Miniatures) Another Dwarf Gyrocoptor/Bomber (I just need to magnetise it)

That's awesome with the Gyrocopter / Bomber. I didn't realise it was possible to have the model work as both with the back detachable.

Someone creates a step by step guide for it (I think on a blog), that I found a good few years ago but can I find it now? Of course not 😂 (saved down in a ‘safe’ place obviously).

CONGRATS, MAN!!!!!!
That's awesome about the birth of your child! Boy or girl? Was this your first? I could've sworn I read somewhere that you had a girl.
Sorry about the rough work schedule. That sucks. Hopefully, it over for a while now though.
The models look great! Glad to see you were able to get some hobby in (something I haven't been able to do much of late. 'Tis the season.)
