Day 365: I had pretensions of finishing Volkmar, but got appropriately drunk instead to celebrate the new year. I did wisely choose to paint early in the day, however, and finished basecoating him at least. I did it! 365 days straight off painting! A whole year down! I'll post a recap tomorrow to mark the first of the year.

Recap! So for 2022, I painted at least twenty minutes every day. In total, I painted 116 models and painted bases for another 88 models. Here's a gallery (it's raining and overcast here, so apologies for the use of flash). I painted 20 skeletons (to finish a horde of 40), 20 ghouls (also finishing a horde of 40), and six Crypt Horrors. I also based the balance of each horde and painted their movement trays. I then based Manndred and ten Black Knights and gave them a movement tray. I also based 20 sword and board skeletons, five hexwraiths, ten dire wolves, a varghulf, a corpse cart, and a mortis engine. The hexwraiths and dire wolves still need trays (2023 project!). Next up was the empire project: Twenty swordsmen, ten handgunners, eight Knights of the Blazing Sun, twenty flagellants, a cannon and crew (that can convert to mortar), an arch lector, a bright wizard, and the Emperor Karl Franz on Deathclaw. Mixed in I painted six high elf shadow warriors and a dwarf slayer. And I'm still going! Today, painting for the 367th day in a row, I continued work on Volkmar the Grim, layering red on his cape. Looking forward to keeping the streak alive through 2023!

Great stuff, love the Shadow Warriors and that horde of skeletons - would be nice to krump and see the bones fly in all directions. That red cape is nice to (would loot that too!)

I struggle to find many near me, but even Southern California is quite large. Thanks for the love and remarks about the cloak, I do particularly enjoy painting things like capes, cloaks, and robes. Day 4: Continued work on the red cape and shaded the cream and black elements.

Those ghouls are fantastic! My favourite of your years work! Congrats, its quite the achievement to get through so much!

Incredible effort hitting the big 365! Commendable. Thank you! I think the thing that surprised me most was the lack of burnout. I think keeping sessions short and not pressing to finish things at a particular pace allowed me to keep sitting down each night for at least a short while. Actually amazing! I've been following your progress all year, and to see just how much you managed all in one update post is astonishing! Those ghouls are fantastic! My favourite of your years work! Congrats, its quite the achievement to get through so much! Thank you! I like the ghouls too, I liked incorporating the WH: Underworlds models and will try that with some other units this year. Day 5: Another layer on the red cape and washed the golds and parchment.
