Every time I read the title of this thread, I think someone that I don't know left a vacuum cleaner at someone else's house after a long (and weird?) gaming session. George Wilkerson (GW) left a vacuum?
Emotionally, I am neither PRO-GW or ANTI-GW. I am a capitalist. If they make something where I get like 50 dudes for $80, I buy it. If they offer something that is more like $55 for a box of 4 dudes, I won't buy it.
The re-release (Spire of Blood) = Good value, I bought it. Other times, I go to old Glory and get 30 metal dudes for $36 bucks and I am a happy camper.
I think GW almost always has that "Cadillac" reputation for me.

I would argue that what GW are doing at the moment is the most open and forthcoming they have ever been.
as you say though for our game it's unfortunately too late.

It's easy to say the grass is greener check out the business models of other companies it's not as rosy as some would think. There's a lot of companies over the last 25 years who have been trumpeted as the 'next big thing' most of them are gone in 5 years. Others end up using approaches more similar to GW then you might guess (look at warmachine prices increase over time since their original release for example)

Squares work for AoS too, ya know. Here's a nice insight: Really happy GW is being rewarded for doing all the right moves recently. They're even doing a big focus on the human elements in AoS for their next novels since so many people feel that's a important part missing from the current setting. (Not exactly true, of course, since some novels like "Daemon of the Deep" already focus on humans)

Also loving how GW and it's authors are being so open and willing to set people straight on what's going on.

Which is all nice and fine IF you prefer skirmish games to games where maneuvering blocks is important.
Which I do not.

When people talk about 40k being AoS-ified, I always assumed they meant dumbed down with a massive rules simplification, rather than the universe blowing up
*note this is my view of AoS you do not have to agree.
I still expect this to happen to some extent
