I’ve seen a number of online battles where units flee directly backwards; they turn 180 degrees and flee that way, rather than away from the centre of the unit that beat them. This mostly happens when a wide unit beats a narrow unit or when there are multiple units in the fight. How do you play it?

Centre to centre.

Q: When a unit flees ‘directly away’ from another, does this mean that you turn the unit about its centre, so that it will flee directly away from the centre of the unit it is fleeing from? (p57) A: Yes.

Fleeing straight backwards is a common mistake, even among people who really should know better. I know I've screwed it up at least once, and was called on it. I felt pretty silly about it, too, because once it was pointed out I realized I DID know better and just forgot...

I know they flee "directly away" from the biggest unit in T9A. To help the type of player logistically plan ahead.
It's such an uncharismatic perversion of Warhammer.

Thanks for the replies, everyone. I suppose it is probably a good thing that it allows a degree of choice when up against redirectors angled in front of your combat block.
