Arkhan has the option of adding 2 horses to his chariot, however, and It's likely me being a dufus, but what benefit does this give Arkhan and his chariot..??

The only real benefit is that you get to you play with the original Arkhan model: The Liche King's Chariot.
You can give it the fly rule, but it can't march as a chariot. To keep him protected you'd need to place him in a chariot unit...

Well, it adds two extra Attacks to the front at WS2, S3 and I2....

Well, it adds two extra Attacks to the front at WS2, S3 and I2.... While technically true, this is deceptively simplified. It is a well known (if little understood) fact that mounts hit and wound more often than the riders. Therefore you're basically doubling Arkhan combat abilities.

Yep, my empire horses have kicked more wounds than my knights have!
It must be because the universe finds it hilarious and it pleases the dice gods!

Technically widens his front casting ark with his death magic a fair bit which could be useful for his magical snipes increasing his options.

-------But, is that even worth +15 points and a wider base? Are 15 points worth it for a much cooler looking model? Yup, the rule of cool take precedence. The classic Arkhan model has four horses pulling the chariot and looks badass. So of course, that is the proper way to field him.

Luigino and thegoatI agree, that was my original answer as the benefit..you can take the original model, which is awesome. I'm merely pointing out there is no real rules benefit for upgrading the additional steeds, again taking the chariot is solely for coolness.

True, one cannot argue that this set-up - or any other Tomb King set-up for that matter - is cool, since they have already be touched by the extremely cold finger of Death.
