I know it's not optimal but the model is so damn cool, as is the potential.
I've only tried it in one game (draw, but I was lucky to get it) with a Destroyer, Horde of Blunderbuss and Iron Daemon but am pondering theory hammer style as to how to get the best out of using this.
For sake of Theory crafting lets assume a Lvl 4 Prophet and Lvl 2 Shadow Lamassu.
The Shadows lore attribute would be key here. I'm just wondering how people if say forced to take a Lamassu Prophet would go about it.
Is Hashut the best lore for this build? I rate the lore, but short range Death could synergise well with the movement 10 flight?
Blood of Hashut I feel is great for expensive rivals with this one.
How would you go about fielding a Prophet on Lamassu? What items? What lore? What army selections to complement?
Fellow fans of Hashut please share your ponderings and wisdom.

The Shadows lore attribute would be key here. I'm not sure what role the Lore of Shadows lore attribute will play. What is the strategy behind it?

I may actually have misunderstood the rule due to the monster mount actually being the Shadow wizard but I was origonally thinking it could be used to swap the Prophet out (Infantry) with Castellan, Hobgoblin Hero or Daemonsmith. I think I'm wrong on this now and it wouldn't be able to be used 😕 😪?

I think the best you could do would be in a really large game where you have a second Sorcerer-Prophet mounted on a Bale/Great Taurus.

In my unexperienced but heavily researched opinion, the Lammasu is a great alternative for the Great Taurus, but only if you have the points. The value is the same as the Taurus, where you have a flying monstrous mount that can bring your Sorcerer-Prophet into close range for either Hashut or Death spells. The Taurus is much stronger in combat, and slightly more resilient against warmachines (-1 to wound against non magical attacks [was this updated to the reroll in the FAQ?]) but the Lammasu gets to nullify magic weapons and is the only access to Shadow magic that our army has. I think the benefit of taking Shadow is not for the Lore Attribute, but rather for access to spells like the Withering, Enfeebling Foe, Pit of Shades, or god forbid Goblins with Ld 10 Mindrazor. Additionally, you get access to Melkoth’s reliably every game, which can be one died reliably each phase, even as a level 2 wizard (3+ to cast.) Overall, in a high point game, I’d say play it like you would a Taurus mount, but you pay a premium to swap combat stats for a VERY UNIQUE second Wizard.

(-1 to wound against non magical attacks [was this updated to the reroll in the FAQ?]) Yes, the -1 to wound is no more, the FAQ changed it to reroll successful wounds just like it did for the K'daai.
