Though I'm still new to Fantasy. My only experience with the To Hit and To Wound charts were in Warhammer 40K 4th/5th edition. I would always thumb through the pages and look up these charts in every game I play.
I was curious if there is a method to remember (outside of playing numerous games) or some simple math to calculate without have to reference the charts?

There is a nice summary on the last pages of the rulebook, you could print out the pages 506 - 508.
Anyway I hope this makes sense.
For missile combat it is: 7 - BS = dice roll. So if you have BS 3 you hit on 4+ Also add modifiers like move and shoot, long range, cover, etc. (Rulebook page 506)
For close combat: Attacker has Higher WS: 3+ Defenders WS is >= Attackets WS x 2 +1: 5+ Everything else 4+
To Wound: Attacker S = Defender T: 4+ If Attacker S > Defender T improve dice role for every step by 1 to a max of 2+ If Attacker S < Defender worsen the dice role for every step by 1 to a max of 6+

Oh nice! I didn't know this existed in the book. I'll have to take a look and thank you for a brief explanation of it. I always feel kind of dumb looking up stuff during a game. I don't want my opponent to sit and wait on me..
