My gorgon will flank attack his halberdiers. My razorgor will attack his other flank. For some reason we lose the fight. Do we a)take one break test with the gorgon's stubborn ld 10? b) take one ld10 stubborn test for tha big guy and a seperate modified test for the razorgor c) screw this shit, let's play some poker

B
Separate units take separate tests. Barring inspiring presence you only use the leadership and rules the unit has.
This outcome isn't that unlikely given the significant static combat resolution the halberdiers have and the lack of armor on the Razorgor/ghorgon.

C. But replace "poker" with "Age of Sigmar"
*runs and hides*
(for the record I have played exactly 0 games of AoS)
More seriously though, the correct answer is B. All units on the losing side of a combat take their own break test, with all normal modifiers and special rules applied. (hold your ground, inspiring presence, steadfast, stubborn, etc...)

I thought about your version but thought poker was safer (they hurt you...a lot)
So B it is then, thanks for the clarification.

C. But replace "poker" with "Age of Sigmar" *runs and hides* Age of Sigmar Even here on EEFL there is AoS talk? Is there no respite from this accursed game?

This outcome isn't that unlikely given the significant static combat resolution the halberdiers have and the lack of armor on the Razorgor/ghorgon. I was kind of hoping that two flank attacks, thunderstomp and 8 attacks would make an impact. You're destroying my hope

You only get 1 flank attack bonus. Thunderstomp has high variability 0-6 wounds is not unusual. (You also get one Stomp from the Razorgor) 8 attacks roughly hitting on 4 of them wounding on 3-4 of them.
You get about 3-5 CR points + thunderstomp/stomp
The halberdiers get 4.5 points of static CR (3 ranks, banner and musician to break ties) at Str4 they have a good chance of wounding the razorgor and might sneak a lucky hit on the ghorgon.
Bad Thunderstomp or a bit of bad luck on the to hit rolls and you lose.

Stomp from razorgor, going to write that down somewhere! No ranks and no banner, that's true. We'll see how it goes, at least he's not running away...

I was kind of hoping that two flank attacks, thunderstomp and 8 attacks would make an impact. You're destroying my hope You should win combat but B is right as others have said. My Ghorgon has locked a regiment in place while my cowardly Gor fled on more than one occasion. We always houserule each flank to count as a +1. Why only 8 attacks? Ghorgon would have that by itself if it had won a round of combat. 11 attacks? Razorgor 4 + starting attacks Ghorgon 7. If the unit is just pure halberds with no characters the Ghorgon is probably better off on its own. The spikey pig could find juicier targets while the big beasty bull noms.

Tomorrow, tomorrow, I'll gut him, tomorrow. - Little red haired ungor Vs Halberds it can be worth it to use the Ghorgon eat attack. Hit on 3, eat on 2. He is stubborn so shouldn't run. Thunderstomp should do good work while Ghorgon noms in between butchering them. If they get him down to 3-4 wounds it's worth trying to eat then back, especially if he loses combat down to 6 attacks. One game I was "feeling it" and actually managed to eat an Elf Lord healing my beloved Ghorgon the full 3 wounds when he was down to 1. If you are feeling your dice it can be worth going for on a character for the killing blow chance. Nom Nom Nom
