It looks really nice, if not a bit expensive

I have one from Fatmats and I love it! Basically what you see there, but only one sided. Pretty much a giant mousepad. I'm not too sure about the double sided thing, miniwargaming has framed tables at their store, so they prevent them from sliding, but I'd be worried about that if I just rolled it out on a table top. The graphic side is rather slick and makes pushing trays easy, but the opposite side on mine has a rubber grip surface to prevent slipping. Just may be something to consider.

Having looked at and considered the mats from FAT Mats, EU, and the newer ones from Frontline, I've concluded that the graphics quality on FAT Mats is still the best. EU had a few nice looking mats and I think the Frontline Mats look pretty bad (like amateur photoshop). You're going to pay around $100 US for your mat and there's no getting around that. Consider it an investment.

That's some good info there, Rick. And I think it was one of the best gaming investments I've made. (And I've made a LOT!)

FAT mats and the base gamemat are very equivalent, having seen both up close. Different choices in graphics, but everything else is equal level. You will be paying around $100, all told, no matter what for a good mat, but it will last.

So now I got one mat from fat mat and one from gamemat.eu Regarding quality, it's the same. Regarding print resolution, it's the same. Fat mat is the dark to the right. And I think it's a little bit darker in reality than the photos. EDIT The mats are laying on top of each other and taken in the same photo. Taken without flash 1m away Taken 15cm away with flash

I've learned over the years to look at general colors instead of light and dark. Everyone had their computer screen set up for themselves, including manufacturers. Nice mats, though.

Nice looking mats strutsagget! Still casually looking for a mat myself, ideally would like a nice double-sided desert/generic green plain or just a nice desert one. Have looked around a bit but nothing really jumped at me yet.
