Yay! I'm glad that these have come back around! There are a few that I missed years ago.
I must admit, though, I've never quite "understood" the hook-hand Goblin. His head looks more like a Troll than a Goblin to me. I think it's the mouth. It's so low and he has no chin like the other Goblins. He looks like he has a VERY low IQ. Blunt instrument for Night Gobbos. Lol!

I have to say that this is the first batch of made to order that doesn’t have a single model that interests me (and I’m normally all over them like a rash!). It might just be that i am fully grounded in a lot of oldhammer OnG. Now if they’d had Grim I might have partaken of the made to order goodness 😀.

Regular Orcs look to have been dropped entirely - as well as the Start Collecting box for them going, Orc Boyz, Boar Boyz, the classic Orc Shaman are all now marked as Sold Out Online. The Orc Warboss/BSB box has disappeared too, plus the chariot. I wasn't surprised that normal Goblins went when Gloomspite Gitz came out, but it seems they're culling their range quite significantly alongside new releases. This classic Skaven Warlord has also just gone: www.games-workshop.com/en-GB/Warlord-Spinetail - which doesn't seem related to any new releases. Obviously, as remarked upon earlier, regular Goblins (including Wolf Riders, and the Wolf Chariot), and everything Snotling related went with the Gloomspite Gitz release. The plastic Goblin shaman is the only survivor, having been rebranded as a "Madcap Shaman".

It's possible that the Boar Boys and regular Orc Boys are getting repackaged with round bases, I'd be surprised if they got rid of those plastic kits. The vanishing of a huge chunk of the Greenskin range is really sad though, puts a severe dint in my plans to build a Greenskin army...

I hope so, but them dropping the Start Collecting box that had Orc Boyz/Boar Boyz/Warboss & BSB/Boar Chariot and round bases, suggests sadly not.
I'm partway through amassing my greenskin horde, but don't have any regular Orc Boyz yet (they'd been out of stock on their webstore for much of the last year anyway), so it looks like another for my ebay list.

I think we’ve seen the last of them too. The Mantic Orcs aren’t terrible I’d you want some cheap boyz, boars, boar chariots, snotlings etc.

hello guys. Hello knoffles . regarding Mantic I would like to share with you all my experience. I bought mantic miniatures twice. Once , recently, I was in London and I found a good offer in a shop .I bought 3 boxes of FOREST SHAMBLER REGIMENT www.manticgames.com/mantic-shop/kings-of-war/forces-of-nature/product/forest-shambler-troop.htmlI wanted them as treekin. I should say I am quite happy of them. Metal stuff but more then decent quality. Price is also reasonable. Now I go to the point... 2 years ago I bought 3 boxes of mantic orcs. they were exactly like now you see them (on mantic website.) I was disappointed by the details but moreover by the fact I could not deploy them next to the actual orcs and blackorcs produced by GW. They seemed to me too little compared to GW orcs ... They have a human body and an orc's head so they are more "proportioned" than GW's orcs which are bulked but because I prefer GW ones I could not deploy them next to each other because, in my eyes , they made my army" uglier." Anyway, again, price is ok and you get a decent stuff for what you pay. just my 2 cents :-) So I can say that if you are not so strict like me ....mantic is a good compromise. I am following the thread and I have a question for you. Are the prices the same they were once for this "old miniatures ? I don't remember ...but I have the feeling prices are higher. Anyway each alternative miniatures brand is more than welcome considering Gw prices....

I can't stand Mantic's models - I bought one of their Undead catapults to convert, and even though Renedra casting is generally decent, it was a nightmare to deal with and clean up. Plus their design is atrocious - goofy looking models all-round. I think they had a great opportunity to be a budget alternative to GW but threw it away by creating such bad models. If someone had combined Avatars of War's model design with Mantic's drive, it could've been something great.
I've got Snotlings already, but for my regular Orcs it's definitely ebay. GW's vanilla orcs weren't amazing models but they were good enough.
Jukei - are you asking about the prices for the new GW squigs vs the old resin/metal ones?

It's been a while since the models were dropped, so I'd be going purely off memory. The prices are in line with what GW charge now for resin characters, and I think pretty much what they were when discontinued.

Mantics versions of GW armies are generally very bad.
Few gems here and there, (zombies, treekin, giant and crypt ghouls - spring to mind!).
But their new stuff: "nightstalkers", basically daemons and "frost alliance" (I think that's the name), which are humans, elves and yetis etc...
These are actually pretty good looking I don't have any of the new stuff though so can't say anything of the quality...
And I only have the zombies/treekin, lol.

Personally, I don't have very many Mantic Models. But I do have quite a few of their Skeletons. I like those guys. They aren't quite to the scale of GW, but they are close. Plus, in an army (TK and VC) where you need tons and tons of Skeletons, they are cheaper, offer variety, and look just as good, if not better, as GW's Skeleton infantry options. (The new Shadespire Skeleton models are the best IMO, though.) There are a good many others from Mantic that I'd be willing to try if I ever had the need for them. Not everything appeals to me, but that's the case with ANY miniatures company. The few that seem to have truly exceptional models nearly across the board (Like Lost Kingdom Miniatures) are usually priced beyond a competitive point, and usually have very limited options as far as range of models. If a company could offer all of those things, as well as easy communication, access and quick turn-around upon orders, then you'd find a company that would quickly be a rival to GW.

Mantic are very hit and miss it’s true. A lot of their older range are not appealing (their elves are horrible and I’m not too fond of their dwarf aesthetic either) but some of them are quite good. I really like a lot of their undead range, especially the rank and file but I think it was the price point that really attracted me. The restic material used can leave something to be desired. They are definitely getting better with the models released (in general). Are they up to GW quality, no not at all but you aren’t paying nearly the price either. It’s a case of what you want to spend. If you want more oldhammer style goblins, the Kevin Adams ‘recently’ sculpted a number for a KS and they are now on general release with Knightmare miniatures: knightmareminiatures.com/category/green-skin-warsEdit: I started this around the same time as mottdon but got distracted by meetings. I’m not copying his post, honest! 😀
