So bolt throwers shooting savage orcs with Darkshards in the middle. I think true line of sight is hard in these cases. One of them has a full line of sight no cover. The two others we played as full cover. Or what part do you measure from with bolt throwers as they might as well be over the heads of the Darkshards. How would you play this. It was obviously lousy placement from the beginning, but I am learning.

You determine cover for each shooting model. It is clear that the Bolt Thrower on the left will suffer the malus for hard cover; and it looks the same for the one in the middle, as the majority of the target seems to be obscured by the intervening unit. The Bolt Thrower on the left seems to have a clear view on target (a couple of models may be obscured at best), and does not suffer a malus for cover.

So that would be -2 To Hit for Hard Cover, -1 if longer than 24" away, which would hit on 6's. Do DE Bolt Throwers suffer from shooting 6 bolts?

Do DE Bolt Throwers suffer from shooting 6 bolts? I would say no as it dosnt say multishot on profile.

What strutsagget says. It does not have the Multiple Shot special rule, therefore it does not get that extra -1 modifier.

Cool. Didn't think so, but wasn't 100% sure. So 6's for the left and middle (if over 24" away) and 4's for the one on the right. Really makes you stop and consider where you place your units!

Well, I do that in any case, because I do prefer verisimilitude. As an Empire player, I always use fire lanes, as I do not think blackpowder units should ever fire through their own units. That said, the rules are what they are, and I will never fault anyone, let alone refuse to play them, for playing by the rules.

I do that too, mostly, but there have been a time or two when I "just had to" fire a cannon at a Deamon Prince or something equally nasty that was attempting to hide before crushing my infantry lines....
