So I am building my first LoA list and assembling at the same time. Think my first game will be against OnG or Lizardmen.
Don't have access to any hobgoblins. Thinking about putting bsb with fireglaves and general babysitting the cannons.
Infernal Castellan: fireglaive; Battle Standard; Enchanted Shield; Ironcurse Icon 155
Daemonsmith Sorcerer: Level 2 Wizard 130
15 Chaos Dwarf Infernal Guard: Deathmask; musician; standard bearer (Banner of Eternal Flame); fireglaives 297
20 Chaos Dwarf Infernal Guard: Deathmask; musician; standard bearer (Banner of Swiftness); great weapons 347
Magma Cannon 145
Deathshrieker Rocket Launcher 100
K'daai Destroyer 325
1 499 points

I think you will struggle without any kind of chaff, i.e. hobgoblin wolf riders or khans on wolves. Dispel Scroll is a pretty standard item to save your bacon for a turn, especially since you might be facing a Lv4.
Facing this what I would try is chaffing up the K'daai while throwing most of my army into one of your dwarf blocks. Hard to counter that without wolf riders.

just as an afterthought: I am working on a chaos dwarf army myself this year (albeit slowly). so looking forward to some discussion on lists and strategies. what is better than a grumpy dwarf? a grumpy EVIL dwarf of course. with magic. and monsters.

Thx for the input Sebastian. I was thinking about making a larger block of core. The closest thing to chaff I have is bull centaurs. No khans on wolf and no wolf riders. They are on my list to buy but have so much at the moment to build and paint I will have to do without them for a while.

Yes, grumpy evil dwarfs are awesome! Not sure if I should go pink or turquoise to spice mine up. Have too many red armies

I like the two dwarf blocks better than one big one. lends itself to better games if it is not just onr big unit each side belly-flopping into each other.
I think pretty much any color could work. I picked yellow as a spot color. but, not sure if I will keep that up through the entire army.

Both my woc and DE have red. A possibility is grey or brown, but it will become very monotonic. So I am thinking of something extraordinary like turquoise.

Regarding army list: flaming banner is probably overkilled and can be removed. Dispell scroll is indeed needed. Level 4 I think is too much in 1500 and too many points. I could always switch the kdaai to a he'll canon. But don't want a third WM as I think it might be too much for a fun game?
I think my opponents will not really know the power of the kdaai so hopefully, it will not be overly chaffed away the first games.

If you take the Hellcannon over the destroyer it makes the list friendlier if anything. A destroyer at so low points is absolutely brutal, due to its massive attacks and blazing body it is entirely capable of destroying 1000+ points on its own. Looking forward to reading about the battle, I think your list is cool and castellan's making chaos dwarfs stubborn is a great perk.

I prefer this list. It's not exactly a oure gunline which is cool. Goodluck in the game.
