So we have a question about the gear of war for skaven. The death globe. Is states it can be used in any shooting phase but follow the brass orb that doesn't have that wording I am trying to find info in faq and fail and wonder if this is some kind of 7ed left over. Is it possible to use the death orb in your opponents shooting phase and if when do you get priority (as you can be shot to death first)? Is it a shooting(throwing weapon: stand and shoot is possible) or just a magical item?

There is a difference between when and how something is thrown. The when is specified by the Death Globe Rule itself, the how by the Brass Orb rule, i.e. "“Place the small round template with its centre anywhere within 8" of the character and in his line of sight. Scatter the template as you would for a stone thrower shot" (updated version).
So, the Death Globe can be thrown in any Shooting phase, including the enemy's, but as there is no priority specified, normal rules apply, which means that the player whose turn it is determines the sequence.
Contrary to the Brass Orb, the Death Globe is specified as a magic weapon. That said, it is a bit unclear whether it can S&S - it depends on how you define "a normal shooting attack." In the absence of an FAQ, I would be inclined to say yes.
