So I thought shields would not give increased AS in CC if using two hand weapon as its a shield (charmed shield/enchanted shield etc.).
My playing partner that's usually better than me in rules thought they would as they are magic.
Trying to figure this out any help appreciated.

I would say no.
But I remember something about the shield improving your armor save against shooting.
Just not in CC if you're using 2 handed weapons

strutsagget: You have answered your own question there.  For the sake of completeness: BRB p. 75: Requires Two Hands If a weapon requires two hands to use, it is not possible for a model to use a shield or an additional hand weapon alongside it in close combat (although a shield can still be used against wounds caused by shooting or magic). We assume that the warrior in question slings the spare wargear on his back, or simply drops it, until the fight is done. |

But do the charmshield magic ”save” work in cc with dual hand weapon?

That does not seem to be addressed specifically anywhere by the BRB - in which case normal rules apply. Therefore, no, it would not work. Just assume that he dropped the shield. |

I would argue that he doesn't get the Charmed Shield save in CC if he is using a two-handed weapon. It isn't a talisman, which automatically has an effect. It must be able to be used, which he cannot due to his weapon choice.
