www.mierce-miniatures.com/For those that don't know them, they're another UK based company that do exquisitely detailed resin models (better than FW in my view) at great expense. They have their own game system and background, but many of their miniatures are a good fit for WFB - in particular they do plenty of monsters, and their beastmen models are popular alternatives for the GW ones. They also have silly names for all their models, to the extent that GW's recent naming looks sensible. I saw that bone giant with the archers at Salute earlier this year, and I need it. It's damn expensive though at £130 (£80 if you want the axe version without the platform on its shoulders) so I'll wait until one of their sales/events to buy it.

I agree with you on that Bone Giant, sedge! I'm thinking that it might work as a great alternative for a Hierotitan? Love all the arms sticking out of the Great Weapon one's rib cage!

I quite like the crabby guys of all sizes. not sure what they could stand in for. I've wondered this as well. I've seen a bunch of Crab-like sculpts from other manufacutrers (Reaper mostly) and wondered if they could make another faction for some army. Look totally cool. I've been tempted to make them a faction for my Dark Elves, since they are mostly Drow, and live underground, but even that is a stretch for me fluff-wise. I might just have to jump in with both feet on the "Drow" concept and forgo GW Dark Elf lore. They do appear to have a lot of barnacles on them though. Maybe if someone converted the new Sea Elves as an 8th army? I mean....why not? I figure wilsonthenarc will be all over those Peat Beasts!

Pretty much any monster can be justified as having been enslaved by Druchii beastmasters. I could definitely see them rounding up giant crustaceans from the coasts beyond the Blackspine Mountains, or the caverns beneath, and herding them ahead of their battlelines to face their foes.

The crab thrips kind of fit the corsair/khardybyss sea theme. I prefer to think of the crabs being lured by food or persuaded by magic and directed at the dark elf enemies but that's just me. I like them. Obviously I'm a big fan of a lot of Mierce Miniatures sculpts. The crabs are great. I really like the Mega undead model.....less now that you pointed out the ribcage hands Mottdon... that's kind of creepy Rules wise if the mega crab is big enough it could even be a pseudo Arackarock what with them both being arachnids and all.

The crab men unit base sizes are wrong. The gargantuan ones come with 120mm round, that makes sense and means they are big The unit of 3 mentions 120mm but this must be a mistake. Normally their units like Rhinomen come on 60mm so I'd guess they are that size. This is based on Mierce standards and the pricing listed. I'm actually thinking the crabs would make a great "Dreadmaw". Crabs can burrow and the funky Dreadmaw rules are relatively unique for a monster.

Or maybe some TK Scorpion-eske monster?

Or maybe some TK Scorpion-eske monster? Ooh, I was going with the whole dark elf thing mentioned but size depending the Super Crab could possibly be the Khemric Titan which currently has no model. It's a giant beetle in the art so a crab isn't so far off. From the Mierce Miniatures pictures it looks like the Gargantuan crab actually goes off the edge of the base so maybe quite long.
