If I do a swift reform what is the total maximum movement my models can make that phase?
And a more practical issue do you need to count each model or is it general for the full unit? If on each model how do you count as moving every model a little might be less then move some units a lot.
Example is this legal: I swift reform into one wide row making some of the models move up too 2times their M. Are they still allowed to move another 1xM after making some of the models move up to 3xM
”Remember that none of the models in the unit can move more than twice their Movement rate.”
WARHAMMER RULEBOOK
”A swift reform is treated exactly like a reform manoeuvre, however such is the speed and efficiency with which the reform was carried out that the following exceptions apply:
• A unit that has made a swift reform can immediately make a full normal move, even though a reform would normally prevent it from doing so. Note that a unit that carries out a swift reform cannot march – they haven’t been that swift!”

Models cannot move more thatn twice their Movement rate during the reform itself. The swift reform allows the unit to make a full normal move afterwards (but not march). If the unit consists of e.g. Fast Cavalry., it could again reform as many times as it wished during that move, provided that no model ends up moving a number of inches higher than double its Movement value.

So with swift reform, you can end up moving up to 4 times you movement value?

Well, individual models can, but not the unit as a whole. Just as with any standard reform, units like Fast Cavalry must keep the centre point of their unit the same, whenever they execute a free reform. Note also that in that case, the limitation of double the Movement value is not per reform, but for the whole movement.

Just to get it right, a unit of 20 chaos warriors(5x4 formation) 1” base size and 4” M with a musician. Can swift reform into one row making the models in the last row move approximately 8" to get to each end of the new single row? And then move forward 4” for a total of 12” during its movement phase?

Yes. Do not forget, of course, that they need to take a Ld test first. If failed, you must only make a standard reform.
