Good afternoon everyone! The last few months has seen me buying and building an Empire army, and I'm about to take the next step...Painting!
I have a few ideas of what I'm thinking about doing, but can't find many good examples online.
The colors I'm interested in are Red, Green, and Gold...and I'll list how below my thoughts on that.
- Red and Green (traditional empire quartering), but I'm worried about looking like Christmas warriors.
- full red or full green with the remaining color for feathers, accents, etc.
- Green or Red and Gold...but I haven't seen anything that makes me think I can do a non metallic gold.
Any examples or additional ideas would be great!

I think you are right to be worried about ending up with a christmas look. What might help is if you completely avoid white for any kind of ribbons/plumes etc. It's kind of the third unofficial christmas color. Hochland official colors are red-green. if you search for Hochland armies on warhammer-empire you can certainly find some inspiration.
The heraldic version of gold is yellow. Is that an option? yellow-green which I don't think is a province or yellow-red (Talabecland).

So I'm not the only maniac who felt the need to paint slashed sleeves properly!
Sadly, it was such an enormous pain that my Empire army never progressed beyond a couple test models...

Thanks for all of that gents! I guess I wasn't remembering that heraldry book correctly at all lol. There are some great ideas...Hochland, exactly. I love those example units you put below also.
Purchasing the paints are next, and I'll keep you all updated!
