My group has started to talk about and plan for a mega battle about a year from now. This will be a multiplayer game with each player bringing 5,000 points. It will likely be 4 vs. 4. There would also likely be a special scenario involved. Details are still being worked out. As it is a year out it also gives people lots of time to start a new army or expand an existing one.
I am considering expanding my lizardmen. I haven’t painted a lizardmen mini and haven’t played with them in two years. So I feel like it is time to get them back out. I currently have around 2,200 points painted. I own probably another 2,000 points of minis which are unpainted.
Here is a rough draft of a 5,000 point army. This is just an outline to help me decide if I can get and paint the needed minis in the next year. So I haven’t worked out all magic items, etc.
I am a slow painter so everything I own that is currently painted would need to appear in this 5,000 point list. I’m open to changes. Thoughts?
List to follow soon.

The other minis that I own but which are not painted are as follows. But I haven’t gone through and documented exactly so this might be off a bit.
30’ish Saurus 30’ish Skinks 10+ Cold One Riders 3 Kroxigor 3 Pterodactyls Modern Stegadon Kit (the one that can make ancient steg with blow pipes/engine of the gods) Old Blood on Carnasour Skink Priest
This stuff will get me a good portion of the way to 5,000 but I will certainly need to get a few new minis. In general I want to use what I already have to the greatest extent possible.

•40 Saurus, Hand Weapons, Full Command 470 Points •50 Saurus, Spears, Full Command 580 Points •10 Skink Skirmishers x2 Units 70 x 2 = 140 Points •Skink Cohort 36 Skinks and 4 Kroxigor, Full Command 410 Points •36 Temple Guard, Full Command, Razor Standard 579 Points •2 Jungle Swarms 70 Points •5 Chameleon Skinks x2 Units 65 x 2 = 130 Points •12 Cold One Riders, Spears, Full Command 438 Points •3 Terradon Riders 105 Points •Stegadon 215 Points •Bastiladon with Solar Engine 150 Points •Ancient Stegadon with Engine of the Gods 280 Points •1 Salamander Pack x 3 Units 80 x 3 = 240 Points •Old Blood on Carnosaur with Loping Stride and some magic items/other gear TDB About 450 Points •Slann BSB with Some Magic Items and Focuses About 450 Points
This takes me to about 4,700 Points. So leaves about 300 points which I am thinking I would spend on two Saurus Scar Vets to accompany units.
Also possibly reduce the spear unit from horde formation to bus formation with maybe 35 models to give extra points and maybe get a few more characters.
Very open to discussion.

I like the list - it's got some good sized, chunky units. I've seen too many people try to play massive (10k+ points) games with unit sizes they'd bring in normal sized games. There's no way you can complete a 20k points game if you're moving 5-man units of light cavalry or shooting 10 archers all the time. Similarly, overloading on tooled-up characters slows things down, so I'd suggest sticking with your current Saurus unit sizes.
What I'd add is that if you've ever wanted to field a Dread Saurian, and either have the model or something good to proxy it with, a game this size is a great opportunity to do so.

Thanks for the feedback. Good idea on the dread saurian. I didn’t even consider it. One time in a multi player game we did a monster mash type game where everyone got to bring monsters along side their normal army. My ally and I decided on the dread saurian and we used it as an ambusher. We then proceeded to roll terribly for it to come on the table. It came on turn 5 I think. From memory it took out some minor unit of the enemies as that was all that was alive and nearby. Anti-climactic, but that was the dice fault, not the monster.
