Love the nostalgia of that Juggernaut chariot!
If you want a custom Skull Cannon one thing that would probably work would be to convert a stone throwing Fomoroid Crusher into a big 'ol khornate daemon with some kind of back-howdah containing the bloodletters and/or a large sack filled with chuckable stuff that he drags behind himself to represent the chariot aspect of the unit.

Nice daemons! That is a lot of bloodletters. The juggernaut chariot is cool. I know exactly what picture you are talking about. Based on looks it makes a bit more sense as a skull throne. You may want to try and scrounge up another herald. They make the bloodletters quite a bit better. Thanks for sharing. Thanks. The more I look at the chariot the more I think you are right. I'm happy with it but it's no cannon.Thinking of having a juggernaut towing a chaos dwarf earthshaker cannon and a bloodletter holding chains to guide the beast.

Congratulations on reaching your goal. You whole army looks awesome. Sometimes I wonder if I'll turn into a skeleton before I get there. I enjoyed reading the reasons for each model choice. I'm also working on a Khorne army and would be interested in the performance of your team in battle. I think 20 chaos dogs are on next on my list. Do you think that's too many, or just right? I was also thinking about going heavy on the bloodletters, like you. I have 30, and might do at least another 20. I haven't started on specials yet, but any other random thoughts on configuration would be appreciated.

They are fast and with 2 attacks each they can be a strong support unit. Hold something up with one unit and get those dogs into their flank. I like units of 10, even if I take some wounds coming in I should still have 5-7 by the time they reach combat. I haven't tried them with Ambush yet but that could be fun. As for Bloodletters I like big units two units of 30 or a big block of 40+ For special Bloodcrushers are solid and the sight of them distracts people so if they shoot at them, they are leaving you other stuff alone. I think Furies are also unsung heroes in the Daemon army. Small units of them with the Mark of Khorne can be good chaff and warmachine hunters. If you don't want to be totally shut out of the magic phase a Tzeentch Herald on a disc can be helpful or Belakor is always an option. The most important thing to remember with Daemons is play them with fun in mind and be laid back about it, chaos is fickle 😊

I'm working on some Storm of Magic and Monstrous Arcanium stuff right now. Last month I ordered some cool 3D printed Fimir models off of Etsy. I am pleased with how these guys turned out. The seller markets them towards heroquest but I got him to printed them without the HeroQuest base and I am happy with the results. I really like these models, they have a nice old GW feel for me. A good amount of detail without going crazy. I don't know how often I'll use a unit of 8 but I have them just in case and for the price I couldn't resist. Some preprinted shots. I also ordered this guy for Fimir Balefiend. I think he will see plenty of action with my Troll Horde, Orcs, or maybe Daemons. Here's a comparison shot, they match up well with GW models. Well that's all for now, back to the painting table.

My son and I are gearing up for a 5K game and I wanted to play my orcs, so I needed to paint up some reinforcements. Luckily the weather cooperated for priming and clear coating, so I've been busy the past two weeks painting greenskins. A mix of old and new on the Doom Diver. 5th goblins and the 6th ed catapult. They work and give it that goofy look that I would expect from crazy sky diving goblins, and I have other plans for the goblins that game with the catapult. Every O&G army needs some chaff and wolf riders are among the cheapest. I converted one musician from and orc drum and repositioned some of the arms to make them look a little like they are shooting on the move. Even with the wolf riders I needed more core points so I thought a horde of sword & board orcs would be great. I had about 24 of the old quest orcs and I scrounged ebay for some more and threw in some Battle Masters orcs to bulk the unit up to 50. The whole unit except the champion are made out if 2 models. I'm pleased with the end result and glad to give these guys a new lease on life. So many of these old models end up forgotten at the bottom of bits bins. The champion is just an old metal 5th orc. He looks close enough to fit in but different enough to look in charge. The standard is an extra Black Orc banner added to a Quest orc. The musician is a Battle Orc with the arm repositioned and a horn from the Beastmen Gor sprue added. I already had the bolt throwers painted up for another project, just needed some sneaky gobbos to crew them. More orcs means more Bosses to keep them in line. I've wanted to get this model for a while so when I saw one for a decent price I snatched it up. This guys is heavy, a sold chunk of metal. The model just has a great look to it. I did some customizing work on this guy. It's the body of Borgut Facebeater, the Black Orc Big Boss head and a right arm from an old 5th ed metal command bits. It's been a lot of work but da ladz is a ready for some crumpin.

Love the wolf drummer! I might have to try and find that piece and make one of my own!

Oh my god, you have so many bull centaurs - I'm struggling to find a 5th to make a unit, haha. (Well, I have two standard bearers so it feels a little silly!)
Also, I really like the mix of the early 90s orcs with battlemasters! I'm about to make use of the three Chaos Knights, beastmen and ogre to add to my Beastman army.

I use just about everything from that set spread throughout my armies. I got lucky on the Bull Centaur, years ago I knew a GW employee who needed money and I needed a new army 😊

Maybe they just like flags. My brother has an Empire army and has made use of the Battlemasters stuff too, not the most detail models but look fine painted I think! I've even found the two missing sides to the tower so I can use that now too, awesome! Anyhow, nice greenskin force you have there sir.

I didn't get a lot painted in July but I did manage to paint up two new heavy hitters for my Khorne Daemons. I don't like a lot of Steampunk in my Warhammer fantasy setting so the GW models for the Soul Grinder and Skull cannon are not to my taste. This fellow will do nicely for my Soul Grinder. I can't take a lot of credit for the conversion. I got the model mostly assembled off ebay. I removed him from the offensive round base and put him on a rectangle. I also removed the Herald's weapon and gave him a proper ax of Khorne. I painted him up to match the rest of the Daemons and he is the extra muscle the army needs. I needed a good model for a Skull Cannon but was having trouble coming up with one I liked. I had already done a chariot pulled by a juggernaut but it's more fitting for a herald. I was rummaging through the bits bin and remembered I had an extra Ironblaster and a couple more juggernauts. So I decided it would be fun to convert up and Leadbelcher who decided to give himself over to Khorne. An extra head from a daemon prince sealed the deal. I've got some more bloodletters and flesh hounds laying about but I think the Khorne army is definitely at a point where I have all the bases covered. I've been working on baddies for a while, August might see some good guys for a while.

I agree with you on saying 'no' to the steampunk Khorne models. I remember finding a good soul grinder alternate, but like usual, I failed to bookmark it. Maybe it was from Mierce? But, hats off that you found something that works. I'm glad you are a few steps ahead of me.

I don't mind the steampunk look for 40K but I prefer my fantasy setting be more sword and sorcery.
