My wife and I decided to get a quick game in, that we can escalate to higher point values later
500 Empire army:
Battle Wizard {Fire} (Dispel Scroll)
Captain (BSB, Full Plate Armor, Enchanted Shield)
19 Halberdiers (Musician)
10 Crossbowmen
5 Pistoliers (Musician)
500 Ogre army:
Butcher
5 Ogres
2 Mournfang Cav
3 Leadbelchers

After turn 1. Both Wizards got their spells off with IF, but the Fireball managed to kill off both Mournfang, while only killing one Crossbowman and putting one wound on the Wizard. The Butcher killed one Ogre from is miscast.  |

After turn 2. The Fire Wizard takes a S10 hit from another miscast, blowing himself up as well as the Crossbowman next to him, but in a massive display of magical might, puts 10 wounds on the Ogre unit, severely hamstringing them.  |

After turn 3. The Ogres manage to get an Ogre Charge off, but only kill 4 Halberdiers. In the following combat, the BSB and unit manage to kill off the remaining Ogre and Butcher even though they had Toothcracker up.  |

The game was pretty much decided at this point, but we played it out anyway. Shooting was rather ineffective, mostly due to the fences cover. Finally, the two remaining Leadbelchers were beaten down in combat and run down to end the game.   |

OUCH! 
Some terrible luck on the Ogre side of things. Shows how swingy magic can be at this game size. I hope a good time was had by both sides anyway, and looking forward to more in the (hopefully near) future!

Glad you like it. Yeah, my wife really handed it to me! When we were deploying, I thought, "Crud! My Ogres are going to slaughter her!". Man, was I wrong!
Seriously though, if those Mournfang hadn't been blown away by a massive fireball, I think it would've turned out completely differently. But that's why we roll the dice!

Great battle report. Thanks for posting. Smaller point quick games are a lot of fun, and you can play a few in a row if you have time.
