Hi all, Please forgive me for my bad english ; )
Got into Warhammer and I’m really enjoying it, So here’s my question about a single model unit that tries to reform after destroying a unit:
AAAAAA [1''] K SMODEL>K [1''] K BBBBBB
To:
AAAAAA [1''] <SMODEL [1''] BBBBBB
_______________ AAAA= Unit A BBBB= Unit B KKK= Destroyed Unit SMODEL = Single model unit > = Facing _______________
01 Can I rotate/reform the model to change is facing to the left left, without breaking the one inch distance rule?
02 Other question: same as above but with a single model with flying ability.
Thx!

01. if I am allowed to quote myself here: On a side note: I have met many a player who argued RAI>RAW, where the alleged intent ran clearly counter to the wording of the rules, but who were quite anal about the 1" rule. The funny thing is that the 1" rule is one of the few rules where the intent is explicitly stated. - BRB p. 13: This rule is purely for clarity. It's important to be able to tell at a glance where one unit stops and another begins. [Italics mine]
So, it is not intended to block movement which would bring the unit within less than 1" of a different unit, but without touching it. Provided, of course, the unit at the end of its movement would remain up 1" apart of all other units.
02: You cannot fly while executing a reform.

Purely for clarity: you cannot fly while executing a reform (standard, combat, from Victory), but if you have the Skirmisher special rule, you can, of course, execute a free reform while making a flying move.

So it is allowed during the movement to go under 1'' from a unit, as long as there's no contact between the units and the unit ends his movement at 1'' or more. Thx! Any reasonable opponent shouldn't have a problem with that. But there are players who will insist enforcing the 1" rule more strictly in order to gain an advantage.
