I personally love building armies and finding the perfect build for a character. And then make a completely different army and opposite character.

I'd say the top 4 to varying degrees as time goes by, at the moment painting is number one. Although beefcake sounds good too.

It's all about painting for me. It's so satisfying to see a painted army on display and I see games as an art show.

I love the painting. Figuring out a paint scheme, even scrapping an old one, is my favorite thing. Much of my current focus is on upping some of the details on my painting of my oldest armies (Ogres and Dwarfs)

I reckon for me there has to be a reason for all the painting effort so although I enjoy working on a unit of models and making them look good it wouldn't be worth it if I didn't get to use them in games with friends so social wins -with beefcake a close second ;-)

I play for 3 simple reasons. 1. I love to build and paint these models. 2. I have met so many great people in my life because of this game. People I still talk to on a regular basis 3. The game is and always will be amazing to me

To me what is so awesome about warhammer is that this hobby figured out what I would call total immersion. This is truly the reason I still play warhammer over 13 years after starting. Warhammer is a game, based on a world with an extraordinary amount of background, where you get to create, model and paint your own armies. There is so much variety and choice in this world that I never get board. Then there are the events that you go to and the people you play with. The warhammer campaign that our group puts on is really my wahammer gaming highlight each year. So for me the top four would all be reasons that I play.

Id love to one day take part in an epic Warhammer campaign. Unfortunately i have never experienced the joys of an actual campaign despite enjoying all the other facets of Warhammer.

There are many aspects of the hobby I love but the main part that sticks in my mind is the fluff.
Making stories of my heroes, the challenges faced by my knights and soldiers on the battlefield and the plot of the events that lead them to those struggles are what compel me to keep collecting and building my forces.

For me it's all about creating a spectacle. I love converting, I love painting, I love playing the game. But the truly special times are when everything comes together, personalized and painted armies clashing over a couple of bespoke pieces of terrain... perfection. When it gets to that point I truly don't care who wins the game, I just get caught up in the story.

I think you have put it better than I could, throwing it all down on a beautiful table to have a fun game is why I spend all the hours painting

I love looking at all your paintwork but I haven't painted in 20 years. Another era ,another girlfriend. For now the combinations of gear and units keeps me satisfied
