Very cool thread. Love the alternative VC models, there are some real gems in there. I used to be a GW purist and for some armies I probably still lean that way (wood elves) but them killing off their support opened my eyes to other companies and I will often buy stuff from those now. My VC core will be fleshed out (no pun intended) with Mantic models. Some of the 3D prints available are truly superb (lost miniatures/last sword to name a few). Thankfully Etsy exists for people like me who have no 3d printer It really is amazing what these machines are capable of doing. My printer is 2 year old and the technology has already advanced so much that there is noticeable difference between current printer output and mine. GW loyalty is commendable but oooooh the freedom of having a printer… I’ll likely never go back to paying the crazy prices for GW models ever again except for a few that really interest me. I will say that I did a test several months ago where I bought some GW banshees just to see if painting a GW model was different than painting a printed model and I feel like it was much easier to paint a GW model to a higher standard than what I was used to at the time with my printed models. I tested this again recently with a wizkids model that I’ll be posting here soon and I was really happy with the results I was able to get.

What a great army! Those rhinoxes (rhinoxi?) look wonderfully grumpy... The grumpiest of all the Rhini(?)

Definitely selling yourself short thinking these are 'poorhammer'. Stunning looking armies, all nicely painted. This is the good stuff

Stonehorn with a model that could be a hunter or regular crew. Lots of kitbashing (if that counts on 3D printed models) on this one. I love how imposing it looks as it towers over everything else on the board. That's a fantastic model! Would not want to be anywhere near it!

I owe some credit to Naitsabes for giving me the idea of adding the barrels and chest on the back. Really talked me off the ledge when I had made a mistake and made the platform 2 levels thinking there were multiple crew.

I call it PoorHammer because it is all proxy models that were significantly cheaper than buying official GW stuff. It’s a pun on the economics of the models, not the quality.
