Here’s some things about me that you don’t know:
I am from just outside of Chicago, I started playing Warhammer when 5th edition first came out, During Covid quarantine I was able to start a warhammer group with 4 people, and like a true blasphemer; no one bought a single GW mini to start playing 8th edition. That’s right, I’m not a pure blood. I’m the equivalent of the store brand compared to the market share leader. Sure, it’ll do the job but not many people are bragging about being the “discount” version of anything. Long of the short is this, I had no interest in picking up warhammer again after 10+ years away from it and then my brother in law gave me all the stuff that he had left over from when we played (full chaos army and a few dark elves). It collected dust for a bit but then I got curious and wanted to try out a game again. I asked guys from my d&d group about it and all of them said there was no way they were going to invest that much money into a game without trying it out first. Insert my new resin printer, an old $75 Amazon gift card, and an old FDM printer. We managed to get enough models together to play a game and it had enough interest to keep trying but not enough interest to get people to jump at the idea of investing hundreds of dollars per army. Flash forward 16 months and we have several armies among us made entirely of proxies.
So, feel free to look, laugh, and criticize how I have been able to beg, borrow and steal my armies. Vampire Counts was my first army and was done with a lot of impatience. I don’t mind any comments and/or criticism on either the paint jobs or on the models that represent the almighty GW figures. Maybe me being frugal will be some type of entertainment for you guys who are much better painters, much more committed to GW, and (apparently) much more wealthy than I am to be able to afford multiple armies at the prices things currently are. Enjoy!
