We had a discussion in our group about repeating Deamons Gifts. Daemons player couldn't accept that Daemons Gift can't be repeated (ETC FAQ clarifies that) and decided to write an email to the author of 8ed Daemons Army Book about this rule. Guy (forgot his name) answer him (nice of him) and stated that his intention was that you could repeat demonic gifts (with is contrary to what ETC rules say about this). Just wanted to let you know. Very cool that the author of this boot still decided to answer him after some many years.
And here is ETC FAQ
Q: Can you repeat the same Daemonic Gift throughout the army?
A: No, Magic Items are Unique and can’t be repeated. Re-roll any duplicates.

I guess a gift you can repeat, but a magic weapon (staff of change etc) is typically unique.
That being said, Gifts for Beastmen and Warriors of Chaos are unique and cannot be repeated... So with that precedent, I personally wouldn't allow repeated Gifts for Daemons...

Demonic Gifts are not magic items. I have always played that they can be repeated.
It is totally fine if you choose to use ETC faqs. But ETC has no authority to make rules outside of their events.

DOC AB p. 26 specifies: "Daemonic Gifts are the Daemons’ equivalent of magic items. They are chosen differently to magic items (see page 61), but otherwise follow the rules for magic items." So, the AB specifically states that their selection differs from normal magic items. Turning to DoC p. 61 on how the DG are chosen: - Many characters in the Daemons of Chaos army have the option to purchase Daemonic Gifts. Due to the fickle and shifting nature of the Chaos Gods, you can’t purchase specific gifts — their patronage can be withdrawn or altered in a heartbeat. Instead, a character has the option to purchase Lesser, Greater and Exalted Daemonic Gifts. A single model can have no more than two gifts of each type.
At the start of the game, at the same time you generate spells, each character in your army randomly determines which Daemonic Gifts he has by rolling D 6 on the appropriate table - roll each gift separately, one at a time. Each gift can only be taken once per model; re-roll any duplicate results for a single model until a different gift is rolled.
Any Daemonic Gift can be swapped for result 0 on the relevant table (this must be done before rolling for the next gift). Indeed, this is the only way a model can receive a magic weapon as its Daemonic Gift. If a model ends up with two or more magic weapons, it must choose which one to use at the start of each combat. Daemonic Gifts otherwise follow the rules for magic items (specifically, Enchanted Items, unless otherwise stated) with the exception that a Daemon can carry more than one item of each type.
"Each gift can only be taken once per model"; but there is no prohibition for the same gift to be taken by several models. Note also "the exception that a Daemon can carry more than one item of each type."

That is specifically stated for WoC Chaos Mutations & Powers, and for the Gifts of Chaos of the 7th edition Beastmen AB. As such, it has no relevance whatsoever for the DoC Daemonic Gifts.

To add: the result 0 gives you a Hellforged Artefact, of which is specifically stated "Each can be chosen only once per army." This confirms that the other results can be duplicated.

Yeah was just trying to find a reason why the ETC would rule it the way they did 😊

Well, WFB rules-wise, the ETC FAQ is wrong. But since they can regulate their own tournaments as they like, you need to adhere to their FAQ, if you play according to their rules.
