Nobody else was at the store besides the participants. We literally just stood around there all day.

Well that explains the results then. 40K guys aren't going to appreciate a fantasy army irrespective of round/square bases. There may also have been some buddy backscratching as well. Allen Potter is a top notch guy and I'm glad he recognized great quality work when he saw it. I'm trying to get him out to Da Boyz

Yes it was a classy move. Allen said "I have a Manager's Choice Award". Then all the 40k people came running and wanted to see it. On a different note, my day spent at the store got me to acquire 2 codices, the rulebook, and the kill team book in an effort to have fun with all of the 40k stuff I own. I also left the store IN LOVE with the new deathwatch line.

Lovely display (the night gobbos too)
Love the oop giant and the Bone grinder is ridiculous.
I honestly think that first should have been between you and Slaanesh.... With Slaanesh being disqualified for non GW models (seriously, surprised they accepted it with the second Exalted Keeper clearly being non GW and so focal). The Slaanesh board did have some great scenery on it but model wise your army was Imo the best.
The Admech armies don't even look painted that well and the crackle paint (which I love) doesn't seem to have been utilized well at all.
The only thing I can think of (besides the 40k bias) is that they gave major brownie points for the base nooks cut out of the board.
Anyway, thanks for the pictures. Given the option of being given any army to keep I would choose your fantastic army over any 2 of the others on display.
Well done and nice Bolter
