Newbie question:
When a mangler squig is contacted by another unit triggering its death throes and it’s within 6” of a friendly unit, will the death of the mangler cause a panic test in the near by unit?

Yes.
Including orc units, as it doesn't have a goblin/nightgoblin crew entry for Size Matters to apply
This part is debated due to RAW v RAI. If you're a RAI player, give your opponent a heads up that they "should" be a night goblin unit, but they are not.
