I played a battle yesterday, and we tried to play as close to RAW as possible but had an issue when a RiP spell (withering) was cast on my shaman's unit.
The unit was destroyed by shooting but not the shaman.
I believe the spell ends here, because the character becomes his own unit, but couldn't find any definitive proof.
The FAQ has an example of a buff (that targets the caster) on a caster who voluntarily leaves a unit, the buff leaves with him... Buts it's different to a hexed unit being destroyed around him.
We understood that the spell had to end, because how do you adjudicate the spell when the shaman joins a new unit... But we couldn't find the passage.
