My dad always told me I had idle bones, but these bones haven't been idle! My first unit is now complete & I'm chuffed with the overall effect. My only regret is that I didn't do the entire unit with the Papyrus dipping ink, but hey ill learn for next time! All finished off with Zamezi Desert paint on the base, some modelling sand and a few beige 4mm shrubs to give it that 'sparce' dry desert feel...

So today the Mrs asked me where I wanted to go on holiday, and, almost without thinking, just blurted out 'Egypt... or the Sahara'. Not sure why! Then she told me to go & boil my head, and it sounded like a good idea... Anyway... heres another couple of units whipped up in quick succession! First off a unit of 3 chariots. I think they look cool (yes I'm aware I'm 4 crew missing - they're on the to-do list!) Next a unit of 20 skeleton Warriors.. just a basic samd base for them! I've finally finished glueing up my starter box but I have LOADS of stuff that needs undercoating - the weather here has been far too cold for it. Oh if only for some scorching sun...

So the Mrs came home the other day & found me writing on the wall... I'd drawn a line of weird characters - like fish, birds & snakes... it almost looked like writing! Anyway, I think she was still mad about me digging huge holes in the garden hisssss Anyway, down to business! This beast has just been finished off this morning & really does look the business I'm sure you'll agree! I've stuck with the Papyrus dipping ink because I think it's the best finish for speed-painting TK-style skellies: Enjoy!

Thanks, yeah you might not be able to see very well, but I've added a couple of magnets to the top of the haunches so that I can add the rider if & when required (and so I can paint it separately!) As I only play 8th edition, the only ridden monster option (I believe) is the warsphinx ridden by the tomb King, so I'll use it for that if required. Otherwise, I plan to use it as a Necrolith Colossus (prob the wrong base size but hey)

Both are on Zombie Dragon base sizes. That's great to know with the magnets. I haven't assembled mine yet.

I think from memory, mine are 3mm magnets, and they're probably not 'quite' strong enough to hold the entire canopy, so I'd suggest 4mm (or a supporting plastic piece)

So the Mrs was standing there in the kitchen, the other day, just minding her business & I bit her! Serves her right for trying to serve me beans instead of the insect-based diet I'd demanded hisssssss So these tomb guard aren't even finished yet, but I thought id post an update as I'm quite excited to see how they finish up:

So the Mrs wants to redecorate & asked me what colours I'd suggest. I told her gold... She said "that's a bit plain on its own... anything with it?" I just stared at her blankly... Today's update sees a regiment of bow-skellies ready to loose their deadly arrows of asaph:

What blue is that for the skeleton warrior arrows? It's very vibrant.
