Alright so I got a game at 2k, since I’ve only played skaven twice outside of mordheim I really wanted to try an assassin. Here’s my list
lvl 4 grey seer:
warp condenser
ruby ring of ruin
warp lightning
daemonic familiars

1x5 gutter runners with throwing weps and infiltrate
1x6 gutter runners with throwing weps and infiltrate
2x3 rat ogres with a master Moulder champ with killing blow
rare: doomwheel
chaos;brought:
daemon prince with sword of striking, lvl 4 tzeentch armour of the damned and that game winning it turns out always strikes last demonic power for any units engaged.

Round 1
Skaven win the roll off
Turn 1 rats:
Gutter runners move up to attempt to poison giant and chariot respectively
doomwheel moves up 16 vastly overextending itself in front of the chaos line
Steed of shadows goes off in grey seers clanrats unit allowing them to be in missile range
Everything else moves up.
In the shooting phase the gutter runners in the left flank manage 1 wound on the giant with poison
Magic missiles fail completely with only 1’s rolled to wound on all accounts.
Doomwheel tries to blast a single template and misfires
Turn 1 chaos:
Giant charges the gutter runners who fire and flee and then auto rally due to feigned flight and then roll snake eyes for their flee distance . He catches them and prepares for smushing.
One unit of warriors gets steered of shadows behind my lines!
Somehow both the forsaken and the chaos warriors fail at charging the doomwheel.
Everything moves up with dp threatening magic support on the giants flank ultimately I dispel quite conclusively with my ‘27’ grey seer.
Doomwheel cheekily tries to blast demon prince but fails due to scatter

Round 2 wherein it all goes wrong.
Skaven:
Rat swarms charge the demon prince to prevent one round of dispelling
One rat ogre unit fails it’s mandatory charge
Doomwheel launches into the forsaken
Steed of shadows cast on the Warplock engineer and generals clanrat unit, who heroically move way too close to try and support the doomwheel(huge mistake)
Shooting:
Poisoned wind misses
Flame hits 6 chaos chosen partially failing to land on a single one.
Warplock engineer Gets blasting! But rolls 2 attacks for warplightning which both fail to wound and storm daemon fails to ignite.
Grey seer: blasts the chaos chosen down to banner and standard remaining.
Left flank gutter runner attempts to poison the chariot but can’t roll 6’s
Lastly the doomwheel tries to hit with all 3 templates 2 strength 10’s on the chosen unit, killing 5 in total but failing to panic.
In close combat the doomwheel flumps every impact hit and attack, failing to hurt the forsaken who kill it in return ouch.
The giant body slams the gutter runners killing them all.
The rat swarms lose but still have 2 bases left. Not bad
Chaos:
Aargh:
2 chaos chosen knights charge the big spear clanrat unit with hidden assasin amd grey seer who hold.
Giant charges the rear of rat ogres
Forsaken and chosen with halberds charge the front arc of generals clanrats while demon prince hits the flank.
In close combat with the big combat 11 skaven are left dead, the general and unit champs hit back killing two guys, break bad and flee and are ran down. As a I fled 3 - one of the units overruns into some rat ogres.
On the right flank my assasin reveals himself, challenging the chaos unit champ of the two strong chosen. He fails to do anything. Meanwhile the other chosen does 2 wounds winning the combat he does die in return but thanks to first charge I’m testing on ld7. I roll 8 and then flee “3”
Unit destroyed containing grey seer,assassin, challenge bait character with cautious shield
The rogres do manage to kill the giant before losing one model though so surge forward.
At end of round 2 here’s how sad things looked
Round 3: mopping up.
Skaven:
Gutter runners fail to do anything on right flank
Poisoned wind scatters and misses again
Warpfire thrower kills 3 of the regular warriors in my deployment who pass their panic.
Remaining rat ogre and rat swarms charge dp who splits his attacks, killing a rogre and winning combat then chasing down the fleeing rogres who once again fled bad and managed to go ‘5’
Chosen with halberds kill the engaged rogre unit completely and reform.
Chaos:
Demon prince moves over to blast the remaining luckless gutter runners who survive with one model and spent the rest of the game fleeing.
Lone chaos knight charges w poisoned wind mortar
Chosen with halberds charge warpfire thrower killing it.
We did continue after this but I had maybe 60 points left here so it’s good game.
I had fun but completely overvalued my doomwheel so committed my entire left flank way too early and as a result was cut to pieces. I don’t believe I’ll let first charges hit my skaven ranked units again, absolutely devastating.
I know also the assassins sphere was silly but he was tremendously useless.
This is the second time my poisoned wind mortar has been entirely useless.
All in all still a great time, thanks for reading. I have a lot more giant rats on the way but my pal wanted to do 2k so I admittedly spent loads on characters.
