Leeds circle in Pittsford, ny? Or Leeds, ny? Is there any English city that does not have an American twin...Manchester? Then somewhere along the line, T9A decided to become NotHammer instead of NextHammer... and thoroughly crushed my interest in them and their game. Care to expand on that, mate?

My answer to how often I game is similar to Will. In the last two years it has only ended up being two or three times a year but these are full day or full weekend events with roughly three games in a day or six games in a weekend. So if you average that out it would be a little more than once a month.

vulcan I hear you but again I'm suggesting there is more hope for you then you might guess. It can't hurt to ask 'hey I see we live close by do you have a gaming group that plays regularly I am actually more of an 8th ed player but I'm hoping to find some games." The internet can be an amazing place to find people. Found the 4th member of our last Blood Bowl Season by dumb luck on twitter 2 months ago when I realized someone doing cool work on BB minis was about 20 minutes away -sent her an invite and the rest is history. As a guy who runs a multisystem gaming event I am sometimes shocked how many people are out there who want to play all these games - getting them to come out takes some work but the people are there just looking for a new opponent to share some good times with.

Then somewhere along the line, T9A decided to become NotHammer instead of NextHammer... and thoroughly crushed my interest in them and their game. Care to expand on that, mate? Just what it says. T9A is moving away from it's Warhammer roots by deliberate design at an accelerating rate. It's no longer a game I'm even remotely interested in playing. When magic is less effective for elves than for skaven or WoC (due to the inordinately high impact of miscasts on very expensive T3 5+ save models as opposed to CHEAP T3 models or T4 3+ save models), there's a problem with your fantasy game.

Also 9th age now has it's own points system so it's less easily comparable. Initially i was following the project a fair bit for additional units or tweaks to bring into 8th Edition but it's too far separated now imo.
I used to play about once a month but I've been so busy in this new year I haven't been able to get a game in yet.... hopefully I can fix that in the near future.

I actually enjoy the painting and hobbying aspect of the hobby more than the gaming, but gaming is just as important, as it gets me away from the desk and interacting with other people.
I play about once a month, and I schedule these things in advance. I typically play at my buddy's house; his basement has been turned into a large gaming area.

I used to play 1-2 times a month, but then my wife had quadruplets. Nothings been the same since. 1-3 times a year now, though I do still paint after the kids go down (provided that I'm not too exhausted!).

It's a happy sacrifice. Besides, I'm grooming the next generation of gamers!
I'm getting ready to move soon for a new job in Mississippi and the house I'll be moving into will have a large room that I will be able to devote to gaming. I can start a game and leave it set up if I can't finish it due to kids. I also know of a couple of gamers who are really eager to play some games too, so my frequency with which I play should increase.

May your selfless farsightedness be an inspiration to all single 8th edition dudes all over the world. Hail!

I've said it before; I'll say it again - If you play your cards right you could have an actual factory of basecoaters: Jimmy paints the red cloak on an elf, then hands it to Johnny. Johnny paints the brown bow and brown belt then hands it to Susie. Susie paints the silver helmet and sword handle and bracers, then hands it to Jenny. Jenny paints elf flesh. (real names have been redacted) As the parent of 1-1/2 year old, I am teaching mine to love Warhammer by saying NO she can't have the paint brush or the paint pot. They only want what they can't have. Hey: good luck with the move. May none of your models get damaged during the move!!!
