Ok so the current list is:
Exalted Hero (Barded Daemonic Mount, Mark of Nurgle, Soul Feeder, Helm of Many Eyes, Halberd) 211 points
Sorceror (Lvl 2, Mark of Nurgle, Familiar) 180 points
Exalted Hero (Barded Steed, Mark of Nurgle, Great Weapon, BSB) 167 points
5 Warhounds 30 points
14 Marauders (FC) 114 points
20 Chaos Warriors (FC, Mark of Nurgle, Additional Hand Weapons) 390 points
7 Chaos Knights (FC, Barding, Lances, Mark of Nurgle) 338 points
5 Chaos Trolls (Additional Hand Weapons) 190 points
3 Dragon Ogres 180 points
Giant 200 points
I could trade out a Troll for a Mark of Nurgle for the Giant & either a Dawnstone for the General or Mark of Nurgle/Flails for the Marauders?

Get the dawn stone. That giant I doubt will get to see close combat. I like the list though.

Going back to your lore discussion I have just re-read the lore of Nurgle and I think it might actually be quite nice against elves. It features a lot of toughness test spells. You are correct about the sig spell, it is basically a teardrop breath weapon then toughness test (no AS). Not ideal in terms of closeness but also potentially painful for him . Also Miasma of Pestilence is kind of a worse version of MMMiasma although is still not the worst spell you could roll. Blades of Putrefaction is pretty crap, the rest all look fairly decent to me. With the familiar I will be able to get a 3rd spell so hopefully won't get too gimped by bad rolls whilst scrimping and saving on the points of a Sorceror Lord Shadow is one of my favourite lores, it really is incredibly strong. Life & Metal are my other favoured lores, not so keen on Death & Fire. None of them are Nurgley enough however The nurgle lore does wonders against elves I never said it wouldn't. I love toughness tests against elves I just prefer to have more rolls on that lore so that I can pick the more applicable spells, as there are a few VERY situational spells in that lore that you wouldn't want to be stuck with. I spaced that you have the familiar (I never leave home without it anymore) so 3 rolls instead of 2 will help there. Yes I think shadow is my favorite. Mindrazor is amazing, but even the sig spell is a great one. I LOVE being able to take away elf rerolls because suddenly they're initiative 3 instead of 5 Death is a great lore, but you need to either have high leadership, your opponent low leadership, great rolls, or some combination of the three. It helps there's a LD debuff in there. I find this lore particularly effective for the ability to snipe bsbs and mages out of units with no armor saves allowed for them. (in case anyone is paying attention I'm all about sniping characters/killing support) You can't forget purple sun if your opponent has low I. Fun anecdote: I was playing a 4-player 5k points each Storm of Magic game once and my nurgle daemon prince got off a purple sun against my lizardmen opponent; I wiped out a slann, about 90% of the temple guard he was in and about 95% of the saurus unit that was next to them. Both units went from like 50 models to less than 10. Lost my daemon prince in the process but...worth it

The giant model set comes with 8 arrows for a reason, gets shot down before it moves. Also you can just bring the fallen giant template to represent your model since he will be dead from the get go lol. I don't have anything wrong with them, but they only seem viable if you have hordy threats hehe...I think clearly the reason you haven't won your last couple of WOC chaos games is because you lack a mighty Giant of Chaos to strike fear into your enemies 😋
