41. got beer and girls out of the way first, then started warhammer around 20.
I think our average ripe old age is exactly why AoS happened. Teenagers are way more into buying new'n'shiny.

Lol, maybe we should rename the forum to the Old Grumblers Pub!

But beer seems to be a constant. Since I'm from the land of over 500 types of beer, maybe the next poll should be about that.
BTW, I drink whisky when playing (my mate has over 20 different kinds, I like him)

Secrets: I actually like Hard Ciders right now. But I buy Growlers of Scotch Ale for gaming because it seems cooler and more Warhammer'y. But I really do like Cider better.

I don't drink like that. Never over or after a game of miniatures especially. I don't know why it's a thing, but it is.

I would drink, but I rarely do whilst my little ones punish me the next morning by waking up at stupid-o-clock

Certainly is an argument about the falling market share of WFB during the 2000's. I literally didn't see a new 8th ed player at my local WFB store for the last two years of 8th. AoS has had a big uptick in new players including lots of shifts from other gaming systems (including card games) into WFB.

In my local FLGS or whatever it's called. Me and 4 other people started 8th edition in 2013 because 2 new people recently moved to our area and played WFB 8th. It was a young husband and wife couple and she was hot. He played lizardmen, she played wood elves. I started high elves and muy one friend did Skaven, so we bought 2 starters. Another guy brought his orcs out of the closet and started chaos warriors. Another friend did ogre kingdom's.

At my FLGS in college (this was during the best years of 8th edition for me) I had my WoC and Beastmen, one friend (Lord Dan from Warseer if you guys are familiar with him) had his skaven empire (he converted a skaven army to wear empire clothing and use empire rules; a truly awesome army), another friend had Dark Elves, we also had another WoC player, a Daemon player, a dwarf player, a lizardmen player, and we managed to get one guy (I still periodically visit him just to play a game or two with him even though he's in Idaho and I'm in Alaska) to join up with his two kids. He picked up High Elves, his son picked up Skaven, and his daughter picked up Wood Elves. We had a great group for about a year or so before folks started graduating and moving away, we even managed to play a few campaigns. This was all circa 2013. Here's a link to Dans Warseer blog for those interested.

45 this year. Got into GW in 1996 with 40k (local store only had that and epic). Played games of 5th WFB with a friend. Got dwarfs in early 6th (my first White Dwarf is from December 1998). That puts me at 21 years of gaming GW.
Ahhh, memories

what ever became of this guy? he was a giant among men on the warseer project log section, spreading friendly words of encouragement and making the whole place a hugfest.

I really didn't expect that I would be the only person 29 or under.
Someone please lie so that I'm not the odd one out lol.

Old enough to know better, but young enough to do it anyway.

what ever became of this guy? he was a giant among men on the warseer project log section, spreading friendly words of encouragement and making the whole place a hugfest. He disappeared for a while. After college he went to Germany for his internship (our school you could still walk if you had an internship scheduled and ready to go after graduation); something to do with the UN. I'm Facebook friends with him still, but even those posts are starting to get fewer and fewer (mainly as his kids get older, as that was what 95% of his Facebook posts were about). He's living in Pennsylvania somewhere, working at a car dealership, no idea what he does there but he seems to be successful. I stopped following fantasy for a while with end times and then the AoS stuff. Played Flames of War. When I came back Warseer was down. When Warseer came back I don't think he returned. A lot of folks didn't. I reached out to him a few weeks ago, he doesn't do Warseer anymore but apparently he's on the Advisory Board over on the 9th age forums.
