Hey, Since we're all doing battle reports now, I'll post this here. My list is this , he had - Steamtank - Halberdier horde with 2 lvl2 mages and captain, 20 crossbow detachment and 20 archer screen - Great cannon, Helblaster with Engineer - 3 Demigryphs - Volkmar the Grim on the War Altar - 2 times 5 outriders Beastmen ruleI played a denied flank. He put all his guns on the right. My plan is to take the long route and attack his left side. One Gorgy defends the right side. The mages are all safe, miasma spam with a 1 on each D3, 3 miscasts but it's all good. I easily take care of his outriders, the chalice makes sure that I don't suffer too many hits. The steam cannon gets a wound and goes towards my Gorghon on the right hand side. That was not the planI decided that a Ghorgon versus a steamtank was a good idea and received 3D3 +D6 impact hits for this err in judgement. RIP Gorgy. One shaman decided he wanted to be a normal human being and lost his wizard level in a miscast. My mino-gor bus finally reached the other side and he manoevered his cannon so that it can destroy that Gorgy. 2 failed charges later (needed a 5 and then a 4, both did not work out) and his halberdiers were laughing their asses off. My general took two cannonballs to the chest and roared "IS THAT ALL YOU'VE GOT YOU USELESS FILTHBAGS???" ConclusionJust like with my OnG army, I made a close combat list and failed to reach combat. Some unlucky roles but things I need to look out for - I rolled the Pit of Shades but decided to try the miasma spam game. I need some extra mage spells to use up all this dice - Mino's don't do shit if they are not in combat (but I tried, I really did) - I cannot use Monsters, I like Monsters but I suck at using them. Next game will be Haunted Forest with Beastmen (me) versus OnG. Lots of manglers, fanatics and doom divers, oh my...

You'll figure the list out keep it up! Sounds like some bad luck on your part I was laughing about your general eating a couple cannonballs. Those kinds of moments are what make this game so awesome!

No matter how many times I read that a rerollable 1+ as is better than a ward save, I will not do it. My empire general and bsb were cannon sniped once (both failed their los roll) and this game confirms it once again. Take a ward save people, your general will thank you later

If you have no source of LoS! against cannons then yes, ward save every time, especially if it's your general.
It's also a good way to protect characters when you have a lot of them and have run out of ward save sources.

Haha. Also ward saves protect from the ever dangerous killing blow!
Badluck for this one...your Ghorgon is just accumulating good karma for when he destroys in your name.
Beastmen vs OnG should be awesome.
