The report and photography is nice but I really wasn't expecting Sigmarines on a forum dedicated to 8th Edn warhammer. DoW are also an older army and isn't there a fan version for 8th edn as GW haven't done anything with them for ages?

In the army development forum and the expansion development forum KevinC is working on rules for a lot of those new units for AoS. The Tzaangor Skyfires immediately come to mind but I know there are others too. Here's a link to the rules for the Sigmarines. eefl.freeforums.net/thread/264/stormhosts-sigmar-army-list-draft

How are you finding the Stormcasts in larger games? Pretty balanced still? I'm still undecided between them being fine and needing a slight nerf. I think they balance out at larger battles as other armies have more to deal with them. I don't mind the durability, it's fitting but I am leaning towards then doing too much consistent damage. Rerolls to wound in every combat round is a massive buff, im thinking of suggesting to KevinC to maybe drop this to just the first round of combat. hmmm.....

Greg I am effectively playtesting some draft 8th edition rules for the Stormcast Eternals which is the reason for then to feature in the battle report. Like Jervis Johnson I am a big fan of house rules and custom stuff. I am an avid figurine collector and while 8th Warhammer Fantasy is my ruleset of choice I'm always looking to bring in new units/models from my collection to play in 8th Edition which is what I consider to be the definitive ruleset to play a game of fantasy battles. There's a reason the battle report was played using 8th Edition rules rather than AOS rules. Thanks for the comments and I can understand where you are coming from. Regarding the 'sigmarines' you would be pleased to note they were all slain and the Beastmen/Dogs of War went home happy. I use tweaked rules for the Dogs of War that my gaming group has adopted. They draw from the 5th edition armybook and the fanmade 8th Edition Dogs of War book. Take a look at the Design section of this forum (Army book and Expansion sections) for some other homebrew stuff.

Just unexpected that's all. One of the reasons I didn't shift to AoS was the fact I'd just rebased my TK army. to look like Last thing I wanted was to turn them into "rounds" personally I think that I've not played enough 8th and there's more to come. I'm looking at my Bret army and what I'dlike to do is make it into a grand army, I've got around 3,700 points of core special and rare and as you know it would be easy to add characters to the same value but my down fall would have been trebs, I own two and in a grand I believe you need four. I now have four Same thing for the TK army really, bigger units more selections so it doesn't really stop. Don't need to add anything outside the book so I'm a stoic 8th edition player. Greg

I usually only use the core rules (so no extra's) but thinking about giving the GROM book a whirl. Get some extra special gobbo's in there. Cool TK army btw

As long as we keep the 8th edition core rules, fluffs and square formations, I have no problem play against even the Space Marines.

Greg Your Tomb King army looks awesome. Im very slowly expanding my Tomb Kings force so can appreciate a great looking army. The rebassing was definitely worth it. If you thought a WFB battle between Beastmen and Stormcast Eternals was unexpected.... just wait until I post a report with Dark Elves vs Tyranids or something haha. Yes....I have done a Tyranids army list for 8th Edition. More monsters the merrier! Barbed Heirodule clocks in as a 650 point monster in WFB.
