Beastmen force has a much larger footprint than the Dogs of War/Stormcast. Dogs of War/Stormcast "alliance" comprises 1200 points of Stormcast with 1800 of Dogs of War. Volands Venators careen into some Gor as the ungor flee their charge and escape.

An easy failed charge leaves the Liberators exposed as the Retributors/Paladins also fail. The Liberators suffer a devastating combo charge from the Hoodhorn Crew, Gnashhoof's crew and the Pikminotaurs.... The durability of the Stormcast would be put to the test like never before. Meanwhile the Jabberslythe finally manages to grab a knight sized snack with its Slythey tongue.

Finally see some Dogs of War in action other than mine. Ace! By the way, perchance may I have a closer look at the Regiments of Renown on display?

The Stormcast Eternals Liberators eat the charge like a chocolate muffin! Despite 7 Minotaurs, a Doombull and a Beastlord attacking they only lose 1, with another badly wounded. All impact hits except for 1 were saved. Meanwhile the Liberators continue to bludgeon Gor to death, 4+ to wound with rerolls to wound helping them do good work. They still lose but being stubborn they hang in there. Eventually however the numbers begin to tell and with Gnashhoof and his crew starting to 'fatty up' the Liberators are greatly reduced in number. The gor themselves have still not managed to even wound a Stormcast at this stage. Lord Spikus charges Gnashhoof to protect the surviving Liberator Prime. Lord Celestant vs Doombull...both on full health, a heavyweight matchup if there ever was one. It is over quickly as Lord Spikus caves in Gnashhoof's head before the stunned Minotaur Lord can even heft his mighty axe. (attacking first with rerolls to hit and wound Lord Spikus with help from the Dracoth manage to do exactly 5 wounds to the Doombull) This could be a turning point as Hoodhorn is now the sole commander of the Beastherd and the Minotaurs are left in disarray. Hoodhorn kills the Liberator prime and scornfully turns his back to Lord Spikus, leaving Gnashhoof's Minotaurs to seek revenge for their boss...

Meanwhile the Retributors charge into the flank of the Hoodhorn Crew having remembered that they are not in fact slower than dwarfs. On the far left hand side of the battle the mercenaries continue to serve their own best interests as the Pikemen cover their choke point and make no effort to support the Stormcast but rather protect themselves. The Tilean Colossus moves to block off the Khornegor while Beorg' bearmen get into position. Protected by the Colossus and the Pikemen, Beorg Bearstruck feels pretty good about things, he never liked the weird large gold statue men anyway..... so long as they did their bit and delayed the Beastmen. With their talk about "Sigmar" this and "Brother" that, Beorg had happily let then sally off into the enemy.....he however knew better and would not send his bearmen kin off just so they could die 'gloriously'. Hoodhorn turns his regiment to face the Retributors and the Pikemen hurriedly look to blockoff the Ghorgon which charges into the flank of the Retributors.

The durability of the Stormcast would be put to the test like never before. Cliff hanger! So what happens? Cliff Hanger - Episode II - Will it be Titled Revenge of Hoodhorn or Revenge of the Liberators? But joking aside this is a really big combat going on in the middle.

Sorry it's taken so long to finish this report..... Lord Spikus is slain.... although he does slay the rest of Gnashhoof's Minotaurs before the Pikminotaurs carve up the Lord Celestant and his Dracoth. Gnashhoof is avenged! In another part of battlefield the Knight Questor despately fends for his life vs the elite Bestigor. The blockage on the left flank continues with the Tilean Colossus surviving great chunks being hacked out of it by the Khornegor. The Colossus continues to trample Khornes chosen Beastmen. Eventually the Khornegor bring down the great Colossus (see rules in Expansion section) however they lack the numbers to defend against the full strength Bearmen of Urslo and are slain, Beorg himself going into "Beast" mode and killing 4.

The Retributors despite overwhelming odds continue to fight, each one does great damage to the Beastmen herd. Hoodhorn, his pet Wargor and the Ghorgon reduce the unit to just the Retributor Prime, however the Wargor is slain and the Retributor Prime does a total of 5!! wounds to the formerly full health Ghorgon, leaving it barely standing on 1 wound. Meanwhile the Pikemen have been placing bets on the eventual outcome rather than helping the Golden statue men. The Knight Questor quests his last quest.... With the Stormcast Eternals killed Hoodhorn eliminates the Crystal Golem leaving nothing but human (and half bear) dogs of war standing.

I bet my non-existent sixth toe that the Pikemen with skewer the Ghorgon You are right This was the final scene of the battle. With the accursed Stormcast Eternals eliminated Hoodhorn withdraws victorious. He would return at a later stage to hunt the mercanary humans but for now he was satisfied. As for the Dogs of War........ while the odd teleporting Golden Statue men who had mysteriously appeared and insisted on accompanying them to battle "For Sigmar" had all been killed they had taken the brunt of the Beastmen attack leaving the Dogs of War largely unscathed....in fact it was almost as if Beorg and his alliance of Regiments of Renown had selfishly used them for their own preservation.......... The Tilean Colossus could be rebuilt and the only human casualties were the intolerable, drunken, boisterous and bragging Voland and his equally insufferable Venetors thought Leopold as he looked back over his full strength Leopard company. Beorg had 'forgotten' to brief Voland of the plan to let the so called "Stormcast" do most of the fighting while they preserved their strength....he was not as dumb as he looked that Bearman...... Time to split the spoils Leopold thought to himself with a smile. The End

How are you finding the Stormcasts in larger games? Pretty balanced still?
